Pass Pro has been legit top 5 in country if not best in country. Dawson finally got the message this week and diversified the run game which overall looked good. But they decide to force feed Lyle who doesnt fit this scheme (and should just transfer to SMU honestly), run on every single 3rd/4th and short instead of any PA pass and false start themselves to death. The false starts are unreal for an OL HC and OL Coach whose considered "elite"
 
We actually did some things better like running out of spread sets more. But anytime we went condensed, defense loaded up and stopped up several times.

And if you insist on this identity, then your oline needs to extremely disciplined, and we’re not.

I contrast Mario with Cignetti. Both have physical identities, but the difference is one tries to hurt you to the body and hope they wear you out at the end and the other is going for the jugular and end it early by exploiting weaknesses.

Dawson wish he could call a series of run plays like Lashlee did to end the game. They were all different looks and caught our defense off guard.

fully agree, i hope dawson takes a HC job elsewhere this offseason but i doubt he gets the call
 
The announcers said that Dawson mentioned (if it’s true) that last year he had to avg 40 to win cause of the defense. But this year, they only need 28 cause the defense is better.

Wat kind of dumbass logic is this? The goal is to come out and aim to be your best. This goes for coaches and players.

One thing that is absolutely certain is that Mirabal needs to get moved to an analyst position. Inexcusable to have this many unforced errors on the OL. And it happens year after year.

The sad thing about all of this is the team is good enough to win the ACC and make a run if healthy. But coaching is the biggest issue . And it’s not all on Dawson and Mario. Our DC does some boneheaded stuff too. Third and three and we’re playing ten yards off. Unlike our coaches opponents jump all over dumb stuff like that. Lastly the officiating wasn’t great but we lost this game more than the refs screwed us. Being undisciplined , sloppy and out coached will always bite ya against inferior teams . Btw that’s another loss as a huge favorite for Mario. It’s amazing how he keeps doing this.

I don't get it.

Because its so inside run dependent, and a successful one at that, there is soooo much you can do schematically to have a 50 pts offense every game against every team, with that mentality.
The amount of short yardage plays you can have when everyone and their grand mother knows your running up the middle, run flats, (i.e. what we score with Bauman), run that until they stop it.

As a former offensive player, and OC you can scheme up days of yards with this offense with the inside run as the base.
