Anyone read why they didn't call 911 sooner? So crazy

Police believe suspect in the University of Idaho murders returned to the crime scene hours later, before 911 was called, affidavit says

Police say the suspect's phone was back at the crime scene approximately four hours after it first left that location.

I wondered the same thing when i read that article. Why not call 911 when they locked themselves in their room and why was the call not made until **** near noon. Fear maybe? State of shock? If alcohol was involved maybe the late call from sleeping it off. I dunno...that part of it don't make much sense to me.

They got those details from a probable cause affidavit. It was put into the PCA to establish that they have an eye-witness. I’m sure there are plenty of details that are left out.
