Yea but hes about to graduate. 189 to 230 probably wont happen. Maybe 220 but he will probably be 215 tops. That is fast for a Linebacker...
IF HE WAS A LINEBACKER.
He's 189lbs.
Stop obsessing over weight. How heave was grace at the same age? These burner types are fine. Of course not all your LBs are going to be his size but it's nothing bad. Guys like armstead, Darin smith, etc were all that size at that age. Imo, if he gets up to 230 in year 3, he's fine. Besides, these types of kids are great assets for special teams coverage units.
First off...you're talking to the wrong one if you're thinking that I obsess about weight.
Second...all I said is that it's fast for a Linebacker, if he was a Linebacker. (which, at 189lbs, he's not right now)
Yeah, I was mainly directing it at the common theme in this thread and other threads that have a hard time with weight.
On the other hand, you say you don't obsess about weight yet you say he's not a LB because he's 189 pounds. Those 2 statements don't really go, imo. Many 230 LB types in college are in the 190 range as JRs in HS.
My bad, I thought this kid was finishing his JR year of HS.
In any case, yeah, he might get to 220 by year 3 but that's fine for college, imo, especially if he has speed to burn. And like I've said in the past, 210-220 pound LBs who can fly are hallmarks of good special team coverage units. You need those guys.
