Good hires:

New Florida A&M head football coach Willie Simmons is adding some big names to his staff.

A source close to both coaches tells WCTV's Kenny Morales that the Quincy native is adding Miami Southridge head coach and FAMU alum Billy Rolle and Booker T. Washington head coach Tim "Ice" Harris to his staff.

FAMU would be good if it weren't in Tallahassee. If it were in Fort Lauderdale they might be able to get something going

Good hire but I feel like in 30 years we're still gonna be seeing posts about Ol' Ice.

FAMU administration is so bad not sure anybody can be successful there.

As a FAMU alum I personally don't think the administration really cares about how good the football team is. It always has been and will be about the band.

Football went to $h!t after that bungled attempt to move to D1. They would've murked the MEAC that year with their current HC at QB, Billy Joe had that GCO hummin'.

As a FAMU alum this makes me happy. This is great for FAMU, we should start to get some solid South Florida recruits.

Dilly Dilly. I played from 06-08 at FAM and I can tell you the admin doesn’t care. But this will help recruiting there. Smart play by FAM to leverage the SFL ties while giving HS coaches a shot at the college level.

Non-P5, FBS kids?...gonna be tough, especially with Butch & Kiffin down here now. When they were winning under Joe, they did it with D1 transfers & SoFla kids, won't be surprised if they go back to that formula. Hopefully Simmons brings His winning ways to The Highest of Seven Hills.
