Ice Harris

Not necessity to keep him for his recruiting or coaching abilities. We can't just keep guys because we believe they have HS connections.

Can someone tell me what Ice has done to be retained on this new staff? All the talent leaving the area, im not so sure he was that great of a recruiter.....can someone justify this love for keeping him?

A position coach is responsible for all of the talent leaving the area? A better question is why should he leave?

He may not be responsible for the talent leaving, but his "connections" sure aren't convincing anyone to stay.

Ok if a guy can only recruit as well as his HC, then what value does he have?

I think Mark Richt will do just fine recruiting and developing RBs without Mr Yesman.

If the head coach is not good, there is a good chance that you are putting a poor product on the field. Do that for about a decade and recruiting elite talent becomes very difficult.

Ice teams in high school not only dominated Florida they went on the road to other states and played the nation's best and routinely smashed them. Ice Harris accomplished this at Northwestern and Booker T. Washington. His teams were welled coached, played fast and with passion.

With his success and a legend from the south florida area, why wouldn't you want him on staff? The parents of these kids no Ice very well. Ice Harris does not recruit just running backs. So when he is talking to a DT and the parents and kids are thinking about committing but they bring up Al Golden's scheme and D'On Frio coaching what is he to say? When many in south florida are telling these kids that our scheme is weak and they see the BS we do on television, how do you expect anyone to overcome that?

Well if that is the case, Richt's name carries more weight

Have you noticed that Coach Ice has been gone from the HS scene for a couple of years and SF HS football continues to win State Championships!!!!

I don't think Ice has anything to do with successful programs, it's the highly talented athletes in SF!

Fire Ice and bring in someone that can develop talent and recruit nationally!

Too much credit given to this back stabbing, bad mouthing coach!

Lets GO CANES!

How about he can coach?

The rbs look **** good in every level of the game. Especially the things that need a lil bit of coaching over natural talent.

proper carrying form, pass blocking, route running. even run blocking.

Look at the posters that are talking **** about Ice. It's obvious why they don't like him, but none of these clowns will man up and say why they really don't like the man.

It sure as **** isn't because he's an accomplished football coach! The man even finished his degree to be on staff. The grind is real!!

C'mon now, you know why these clowns dont want Ice around! They are cowards and haters! Their reasons for now wanting Ice on the new staff has NOTHING to do about football! Thank you for your insight and your objectivity. Go Canes!

I hate Corch D'onofrio and Kehoe just as much as I hate Ice. Stop with the racist ****.

Reverse racism runs rampant on this site. Gotta love it...that card is old and worn out Soul.

he was Als driver into the HOOD....

Guy brings nothing...but I can think of a few that I would show the door first

RB coach absolutely has to be a monster recruiter. It's a spot where you usually hide dicey coaches who are great salesmen. Ice couldn't even convince his own son to come here. He's been a bust as a recruiter.

I don't think ICE has as much pull as u think he does......yea maybe with some two and three star guys... N.but the nationally recruited guys from south Florida? Ice ain't convincing no parents to come to the u unless they from OT....can he recruit dJ Williams from California?

Give me McClendon over ice Harris who has brought in and coached 4 5star running backs including Crowell, Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, Keith Marshall, Todd gurley as well as multiple other high level recruits over Tim ice Harris who likes to play favoritism and can't recruit as well as we thought he would

Some people just don't get it.. You have to be able to recruit RB's nationally not just in South Florida. We have too many coaches on staff that can't recruit nationally.

It is important to have a coaching staff that can recruit anywhere and at any position...

However, RB is the position that Miami can almost always get in-state and do very well...

The only big-time back that I can think of that wasn't from Florida is Chuck Foreman (Gaithersburg, MD) and that was 4 decades ago....

Portis, James, Gore, McGahee, Bratton, Najeh, etc....from Florida....

He can't recruit nationally and barely locally. He can be a ticket taker, or a sideline hype man....not a coach here.
