Ice Harris

Not sure if he is the guy. But I would love to have him or someone like him (Miami style) running our program.

This is some great stuff. Dude straight up trucks his own player. He makes sure they are ready to go and respect him. Don't know how they let it slide because they didn't do that where I played but we weretn BTW either.

1. This is MNW
2. Buddy was fired I believe

Intriguing, imo he definitely has a chance to be great in coaching college. I would actually take him over coley at OC which is a bold statement. BTW runs one of the most exciting offenses in high school and college kids would want to play in that offense. This make sound crazy, but I look at a team like Oregon and I think the offense BTW runs may have the same or better results translated to a college team especially with the speed UM will always have. The only personnel issue would be that Kaaya is not a running threat but Florida will always be filled with Dual Threat Qbs.

Got ya, yeah we weren't MNW either lol.

I think Ice Harris has every intangible and attribute great coaches have.

I think he would flourish at any level. his peak may be college for head coaching. But it think he could coach at some capacity on ANY level.

Thatm an just has that "it" factor.

i seen ICE look at Duke like he farted ..when he trotted off the field with 5-6 yd runs.

I saw Ice look at Golden in our last game...when golden didnt go for it on a fourth down like..."are you serious" look.....

Tht dude with some seasoning will be a good to great OC....He actually has a feel for the game ..and coaches to his talent on offense. He'll air it out when he has the dogs..but doesnt abandon the run game.

His high school offenses made Coley's look like a joke and they coached at the same time in high school...Coley just d*ck rode Dwayne Bowe to a gig @ LSU. Ice is behind right now...but two-three years getting some seasoning from a rel oc..he;ll be ready to call plays at this level...and be good at it....

No he was a great coach. What his Booker T teams did was flat out impressive.

Other high schools with equal or more talent here in Miami weren't doing what his teams were doing.

He's an intriguing guy. I don't know if that would translate to success at the college level.

Huh?

What schools have equal or more talent than BTW? LOL

People can be so **** naïve when it comes to judging a coach's ability. It reminds me of the list that Blustein released just before the season that had the "top high school coaches in South Florida." Go figure, it was a list of guys who are at loaded teams. My boy at Coral Springs would dance circles around Ice Harris or just about any other coach in South Florida but nobody really mentions his name cause he's at a program that's not prominent in South Florida. You guys don't know what these coaches do or what their principles are so you judge them based on the only thing you have access to, their records and/success. That can be extremely misleading.

You can't judge a coach when his team is loaded. Show me a coach who does something with nothing. A coach who makes chicken salad out of chicken ****. Somebody who wins without D-1 talent.

I'm not saying Ice isn't a good coach, all I'm saying is that it's extremely hard to tell considering the talent he's always had at his disposal. Shoot, they just won another state championship WITHOUT him.

Tell me what you do know about Ice. I'm truly interested in the guy. He makes it do what it do.

Sounds like a guy who coaches no talent.

And proud of it, cause I make chicken salad out of chicken ****. Always have.

9th ranked defense in Broward County 6A-8A football this year, during my first season at a brand new school, with players that don't know my system, and zero D-1 prospects. You can't find another defensive unit in the top-30 with as little (pure) talent as mine, nevermind the top-10.

The thing about coaching at a school with little talent is that IT FORCES YOU TO ACTUALLY COACH. You can't just send the house and play 'man' every play.

Booker T is 2001 Miami and we're TCU. Anybody can coach those kids. Same thing applies to Monarch, Miramar, Miami Northwestern, Hallandale, Saint Thomas, etc. The problem is, you guys listen to people like Blustein who only d!ck-ride the prominent programs. Meanwhile the new HC at Douglas is coaching his *** off and just went 7-3 in his first season. My boy at Coral Springs just took a 3-7 team and went 7-3 this year (his 1st season) and took them to the playoffs while fielding the 3rd ranked offense in the county. (with zero D-1 kids)

You'll learn one day.

Your boy aint coaching circles around Ice.

2.) Booker T was coached before Ice by another coach who couldnt do what Ice DID...and that coach was a dade county veteran coach (Hughes)

I give him respect because he built a PROGRAM at BTW....Which isnt easy as you think. Add to it Booker T did it mostly without Tranfers.

Kids who play at Booker T live in the worst part of Miami By Far....his kids for the most part all qualify and make the grades...these arent the fakes acting hard from Weston or Carol City...i work in Overtown....Believe ME...

Ice coached offense at a bunch of schools in dade..and they all have had prolific type offenses.

THEY WON another one without him............BECAUSE he BUILT a PROGRAM..and its being ran by his son for christ sake...lol

He seems like an interesting cat.

Tell me about him. Does he have a future in coaching? I know his HS teams were pretty **** good.

He would be one of the only ones I would keep off this staff. Look at what Gus has accomplished in one year under him. He is finally running like a big back instead of scat back

Coach.
Circles.
Around.
Him.
All.
Day.

He took a 3-7 Coral Springs team to 7-3 this year, beat Gibbons, won a playoff birth and hung with Hallandale down to the wire. His offense scored more points against Flanagan and Monarch than anybody they played all season. He took Western from 5-5 to 6-4 to 7-3 and managed to beat a loaded Plantation team twice in one season. Western's record is 4-16 since he left.

If you gave him half of the talent that Ice has had to work with it would be laughable.

Does Ice do a good job? I'm sure. But gimme a ******' break. His teams are loaded every year.
