Mario wouldn't work in the NFL in today's NFL.

Explain what Mario would bring to the nfl first. He’s a good ol coach and recruiter, that’s it, so I don’t see the nfl calling him as anything other than an ol coach
 
Would Mario go back to FIU if he fails miserably here? I mean if his kids are just starting high school then there might be something said for that type of stability rather than throwing your name in that hat for the Rutgers or UConn openings or being a positions coach at Pedo State.

Just wondering.

He was a DC in the nfl more than once as well as a HC. Almost all of his experience was in the nfl prior to usc

I personally don't think he has NFL aspirations... Miami is home and if he can build a consistent contender like Dabo has done at Clemson I could see him at for 15ish years and then call it a career. Be home with his family and grandkids.

Maybe if he had a family reason to leave (like kids grow up and move away).

@Tru C, Can he effing turn it around first before we give him the savior send off to the NFL!? So far the only thing he’s turned around is the diarrhea in fans bowels..

He is going to do it. I believe by 2024, Miami will be a playoff team, and hopefully a model of consistency like Clemson thereafter.
 
He definitely would. That money is just too good to pass up. Every college kid wants to get to the league. I believe the same is true for a college coach.
