[I want] Clinton Portis [as RB Coach]

This is silliness. Even if the background check didn't matter, and it does, he has almost no relevant experience. I love CP but It's not happening nor should it.

Agree.
I simply some links related to his brief coaching career.
Loved him as a player.
One of the great Canes.
But resume is thin.

Oh look, another dumbass thread. Clinton Portis has ONE, I repeat ONE year of experience as a RB coach at the collegiate level and it's his ONLY relevant coaching experience. I know our dumbass fanbase will hire any former letterwinner, experience and actual ability be damned, but come the F on. This is exhausting as all ****. This program has just come off of two decades of mediocrity and here we go with "Miami Guy Bro" nonsense. SYBAU.
Yea I thought we were over that BS.Just because Mario and JT have been successful doesn’t mean every player that ever graduated and played for Miami will be a great coach.

Taylor also had more than 9 months of relevant experience. Taylor has shown himself to be a grinder, someone who is passionate about development and the process. Clinton Portis has never been that kind of guy, EVER.
Could he get there? Sure… I’ll give credit to Taylor also he grinded at the HS ranks too

Jason Taylor spent 5 years as a HS assistant and a year as an analyst in the Miami program before being elevated to a position coach.

This isn't a comparison. Their resumes are not at all similar.

Just be ready for the Ray Lewis at lb coach
Dorsey OC
Reed db coach
And on and on and on. It never ends with these fan bases where they want every coach to be a former player. Casuals
