Just passing along something here. Definitely TIFWIW but an acquaintance of mine is a coach for one of the high school teams around here. I live about 5 hours from Tuscaloosa so its Alabama and FSU up here with UF and Auburn mixed in.

Long story short, I speak to this guy every day and he is an Alabama alum. He doesnt give a **** about the Hurricanes but we have discussed the coaching search. Well, he is long time friends with someone who is on the Alabama staff, which boasted to him about the promotion that he was about to get.

This buddy of mine, says that this guy on the staff (love the third hand info) has been told that Mario was offered and will be taking the head coaching job at Miami.

Dont kill the messenger and I hope his fat friend is wrong. Just thought I would share because I consider this "source" reliable.

Miami can't be that stupid can they...Butch on a platter and we may hire this clown, 5 more years of being mediocre

Yes I went off on a tangent about how bad of a move that is. He said "I didn't say it was a good hire".


Even he knows.
 
I wouldn't be surprised if this happens but why hire Korn Ferry if this is the case? I can't imagine he has any sort of buyout as an assistant coach so couldn't they just wait another 2 weeks until Alabama's season is over to offer him the job and finalize the arrangements?
 
LOL at him already having the offer. If he did he'd be here already. He would have grabbed a flimsy sheet of balsa wood and paddled his way down the drainage ditches on I95 to get here.

Of all **** names being tossed around, Mario is by far the worst. Schiano, Chud, Strong, they all at least have something (however minor) good to bring to the table. Mario is just a **** hire no matter how you look at it.

Inside source says Golden won't be canned

Inside source says Butch has already been offered and is assembling his staff

Inside source says Miami is going after Strong

Inside source says Miami has not contacted Cristobal

Inside source says Miami has already offered Cristobal

Inside source says Miami has 40 coaches to choose from

Enough already. In 3 weeks, nothing has come to fruition. All of these "inside" sources can't tell their heads from their ****.

Let's just leave the "inside" sources regarding coaching out...b/c it's been all wrong.
 
wayyy premature for anyone to "accept" the job.. I doubt we've even finished conducting interviews. The timing seems way off. If true though im officially done with UM. I was already at the breaking point with Alfred.

LOL... you need to have a better understanding of when someone tells you something thats made up.

There is no need to pay for search committee or let recruits walk if you have already hired someone.

Logic wins out 100.01 % of the time.
