I think its safe to say that we will finally stick with our QB room next year

The 1st practice for Mensah at Miami and this is what we get. Mensah looks like he could be our most accurate QB in, forever. I will not be shocked if he is better than Cam. His decision making will surely be better. He has put on weight, not bad weight. He already appears to have taken full leadership of his guys.
Coleman is so small, their is zero chance he isn't a RS.
Another year and Judd still hasn't gotten his accuracy issues down, pun intended.
Nickel has reshaped his body and looks comfortable right now. Completely different from last year. By default, Nickel is a given to be the backup.
QB room set day 1 of Spring.
Cam decision making led us to our greatest offense ever, him being a heisman finalist, winning the best qb award and being the #1 pick. That’s a bar we shouldn’t expect from mensah or any other qb we get

I agree I’m just speculating nothing is set in stone. Regarding developing a QB, I personally think Neimann Lawerence is that guy.
The good part (to me anyway) is it feels like we won’t be forced into the portal

We’ve had no choice really the last 3 years but I think there’s a good chance one of the two young guys (and maybe an elite QB available this year) will give us the option to pass on the portal

I’ll still ride with the portal. People can think what they want about QB development but I don’t care about it

Buy em

We have the talent to do it for sure and i think our defense being better helps because we should get more opportunities and favorable field position more often. But its a high bar that i dont think we should expect

not sure why most of you are against this and wouldn't want him starting his sophomore year
Maybe because he hasn't taken one single snap. Stop crowning people based off of nothing. Will when you learn your lesson? I can't believe you're still doing this after what happened with Jojo. And he isn't the only one you've done this with and been completely wrong. We all root for the kid and hope he does well and starts one day, just because we aren't stupid enough to pencil him as the starter after a couple of spring practices doesn't mean we are haters.

jojo was starting before off the field issues and injuries

That's bull****.

His very first start was in the Pop-Tarts Bowl, since some of our WRs opted out (Restrepo, Horton).

He only had 2 starts in 2025. And they were NOT at the beginning of the season.

Stop telling lies.

what? utah in Vegas??????????????????????

This conversation is always filled with overthinking.

Either one of the qbs will prove in practice or games that they are worthy to be starting next year, or we will go portal again.

Simple as that. It wont be decided because the coaches are worried about their QB recruiting in the future if they dont force a young recruited qb to start.

You know what hurts recruiting as a whole (not just qbs) the most? Losing.
Also, any kid with a decent brain can understand the difference between an elite QB and not. Especially when it is right in front of you.

Having Ward, Beck, and now Mensah on campus allows the young QBs to see how far they have to go to get where they want to be. There are no illusions about the requisite talent level.

I think that's why Emory kept hanging around. He could see the bar and kept trying to get there but just never did. Finally he had to leave and try to play somewhere before it was time to hang it up.
