Here is the thing with coach richt, when you got 2 heisman qb's on your resume, its hard to not think you dont know what you're doing with that position. Under coach richt, alot of his qb's have played in the nfl, he just doesnt have a history of playing alot of young qb's. No one should be judging coach richt as longs rosier is starting, in my opinion, coach richt is doing the smart thing, he's building this team from the ground up, he knows and understands that this team is not going anywhere until the o-lline situation gets fixed, so he'd rather let rosier get beat down than to put cade or jarren in behind that o-line against lsu. Keep in mind though, had perry not been suspended, i do think he would've played em tho.
In reality, with the way this roster was going to be, this staff has gotten alot out of them, the biggest downfall this year is, if we're going to be bad on 3rd down, the punting game has to be strong, otherwise, we gotta be able to put up points. This is year 3 of the rebuild/build up, im not worried at all, coach richt might still be looking for the next charlie ward to much tho, cause prior to charlie he always ran a more physical offense. Also he does not always have to have a mobile qb as well. So in reality, this team is on track, we might have been a lil further ahead in my opinion if art kehoe was still coaching the o-line, be that as it may, this team will get stronger and stronger every year.
As the headcoach, he almost has to do it the way he's doing it under the circumstances, its smart recruiting wise cause receivers coming in will know who they'll have seasoned qb's throwing to them.
The fan base are being impatient with the wrong guy, all coach richt has to do is what he knows to do and ignore the outside noise. People looking around the country trying to compare what richt should be doing with the qb situation to clemson, UGA, Bama and whoever else started young qb's is comical, why would coach richt do that when he knows we got a suspect o-line, those schools can get away with it cause their o-lines have been real good. This is why coach richt lets the 2's go against the 1's, cause if the 2's are able to rise above the ones consistently, that's when you know they're ready, right now its about building depth. The future is bright at UM, but keep in mind, this season is not over, the younger players are being protected properly and rightfully so, they all will get their time.
Coach dugans will continue to have his group playing at an elite level no matter who the qb is, same with coach brown, you can see the jess simpson affect already so as he continues to groom guys cause if anybody is being real, we are behind when it comes to d-linemen, coach kul and the moron regime before him jacked that up, so we're in catch up mode, particulalrly at d-tackle, the numbers wont be right until probably next recruiting cycle but we'll be able to work around out scoring people soon, as of right now, the young talent is being groomed, as long as they keep working, we'll be straight, the problem for real right now with this team is, and i was surprised but i heard to many coaches passing out to much praise to the team in the media, talking about how well they've been doing and this and that, than when we go up against lsu, they saying one/the first touchdown given up got the team morale down.
I kept saying prior to the game that it was to much soft talk by the players like Ahmon, cager and rosier when it came to answering questions about are the young guys ready, that was unecessary, obviously the actual game will answer that, and some of the coaches were talking about it to much too.
Coach richt is building a program, the frame work is in place, in all honesty, we should began to look like the team we are suppose to be by the midway point or end of next season, right now, just enjoy the journey.
