I think #6 is about right for us...

I think "our next major test" should always be our next game. Looking at it any differently is inviting disaster.

you're only getting top 4 for winning the ACCCG and thats really the only thing that should matter to anyone. the rest of the rankings are meaningless. Unless you think we won't finally win this stupid *** conference and we will need to beg and plead for a at large bid, who cares where we are ranked right now. ACC winner is getting #3 seed of better since the BIG12 is getting even less respect then we are.
 
Holy cow completely forgot about Oregon barely beating Idaho. At the end of the day these are college “student” kids. Except Dr. McCormick. It’s hard. You can lose to anyone. Especially when the portal. The talent is spread around. Qb talent especially. How is Pitt this year without Eli Holstein? Who they got from Bama.
 
IMO our play after 6 games seems like a #10-15 team to me. Maybe that feels low but considering we've been a bad/mid team for so long, especially at the end of seasons, I'm not gonna pound on any desks about rankings just yet.

Anything can happen in one game of football. With this offense, I genuinely think we can beat anyone in the country. But if you want to talk *best* team, I tend to think who’d win in a 7 game series? And the only 3 teams in America I think we’d be a very serious dog to would be Texas, Taint, and Oregon. Those are the 3 best teams right now, imo. After that, there are about 10 teams who could be #4 or could be #12. We’re in that group.
 
VT should not have been close. Cal should have been a blow out for us. But both games were close. That is not the way old time Canes played football. I have followed the Canes since the late 1970's. When we were great, we sometimes struggled against some teams like VT but we absolutely dominated against the likes of Cal. So I think this isn't a great team yet until we demonstrate that ability. If we dominate Louisville offensively but more importantly on the defensive side of the ball then I am willing to say okay we are special. Right now, especially after the last two games, especially defensively, we are just a top 15 team. Any loss keeps us out of the playoffs and based on strength of schedule, deservedly so. So players have to step up and take us to the next level. TBH in the last two weeks they have failed to do so.

The problem is we're getting no respect from the polls and that might carry over into the committee room. Say we win out but lose to Clemson in the ACC Championship Game, do we get an at large? Seems a 2 loss Georgia or Ohio State will be more valued than Miami. Does LSU, Tennessee, Penn State get in over us? The weight these SEC and B1G conference losses carry is insane.
 
Sure 6 is fine but yall are some beaten lovers. You don’t want accept Miami as a top 5 team because you’ve been hurt before. Maybe this Miami team will hurt you. Clemson looks good, we could finish second in conference.

But it’s your hurt that’s talking. Why shouldn’t Miami be higher? Bama is almost a two lost team to trash unranked teams. Georgia lost to Bama and almost Kentucky. Penn state should have lost to usc. Oh youre jaded and Miami had a big comeback after traveling to the west coast and playing football at 2am. Grow a *****.

We aren’t the best team in the country. We have sucked *** for 20 years. But these teams ahead of us haven’t earned it either

Kentucky, South Carolina, Usc are all better than cal and vtech

All wins and losses aren’t equal, are wins have to age better and we have to play better for our ranking to be raised

Compared to those schools u named our schedule is the worst by a good margin
