I see reasons for hope

Well, that’s what he did w Rambo. It appears, TVD may have that Aaron Rodgers syndrome, trust issues
absolutely. I just want to see Romello make a play so TVD will target him. If Mallory is out for a while he will have to give everybody targets. It's crazy to me that Brinson only has maybe a handful of catches this season.

496 yds passing vs UNC 24 pts
350 yds passing vs VT 20 pts

Offense its dysfunctional still
160 yards in penalties is a big number.
Normally hard to overcome.
Hopefully as we start to play a little better on O, the penalty bug wont rear it's ugly head.
Bottom line is that we played clean on the last possession, got a couple of firsts, and closed the game out.

Obviously, the penalties and the OL are certainly areas for concern, but that's all fixable stuff. The biggest thing is that I see improvements in all three phases.

I believe MC will get our guys to be more disciplined and we'll go back to having fewer penalties, but I do see things improving.

Some positives:
  • We finally have a stud #1 WR in Young. They need to feed the ball to that young man.
  • TVD is finally back and seems to have come to a peace with this new system. He looks like last year's TVD.
  • Mallory is finally playing the way we thought he would. Hopefully the injury won't keep him out of the Duke game.
  • Don't know why it took this long, but the coaches are finally putting athletes in to return the ball, especially on punts. Having Smith back to return punts is waaaaay overdue and I wouldn't be surprised if we see him take one or two back this year. We have to put difference makers in as many positions to make a difference as possible.
  • Once we get some guys back on the OL, we might be a dangerous team.
  • The coaching on the DL is really starting to show. That DL is getting pressure and sacks. More INT's will come with their pressure.
  • After the MTSU debacle, it looks like Steele has the D playing better overall.
  • If we continue to show improvement through the year and we get some kids back from injury, we could become that team that no top team wants to play (cough-Clemson-cough).
Show improvement every week and the majority of us will hang with Coach MC.
Put the kool-aid down Bro.

I shared this w/ one of my boys in a PM, but I guess I’ll put it here, too:

When Richt took over Miami in 2016, Miami was 126th on penalties in 2015. That 2016 team finished 112th in penalties. The 2017 squad finished 43rd. That’s right my friends, when Richt inherited the 2nd most undisciplined team in FBS, they still remained relatively undisciplined in yr 1.

Despite Richt installing a level of discipline, as SOON as Diaz took over, we finished 103rd, 121st & 92nd in penalties the last 3 seasons. Yep; not only do we have some holes on the talent side, but we have some serious discipline issues. Not a coincidence, folks.

Mario’s poor reputation for clock management showed itself today. The penalties were outrageous but the o line penalties will go down once Zion & Clark are back. Great performances by Colbie & Brashard, hopefully Jacolby will be ready soon cuz I expect him back before X. That TVD TD pass to Colbie was a thing of beauty.
When is Zion going to be ready?

You can be sure as sh*t MC wanted to bench 23 after the late hit. But who else is going to trot out there? Rest assured tomorrow is not a day off.

We need to fully commit to going up tempo. TVD is deadly in it. No more snapping the ball with under 10 secs.

That chit almost came back to bite us. The problem is our team is too disjointed right now. We have zero balance. First we were running, but couldn’t pass b/c TVD had zero rhythm w/ anyone. Now we can pass, but can’t run & when we needed to run to bleed the clock, it wasn’t an option, thus giving VT an opportunity to steal a W.

We’re playing w/ a chit load of back ups; the OL is a mess, our RB room is depleted, X is gone, Arroyo is gone, Mallory is gone, George is gone. Lotta moving parts. The silver lining during these rash of injuries is this kid coming from the JUCO level has emerged as a str8 star.
