I Rewatched the Five Straight 3-and-outs

Interior OL played a major role in second half. Fletcher & Mali got banged up. Interior three struggled with Wake pressure & switches. Couldn’t run the ball. Couldn’t protect Mensah, who also got banged up. Assume OC’s play calling had something to do with not wanting his QB lost for the season.
 
The positive is we won and a realistic reason to coach them hard vs the coach speak during another practice week of a snoozer opponent. They know they stunk the second half. They don’t need to be told it and will be paying more attention to details.

Same thing Dawson said in his interview. Went as far as I've heard him go suggesting a bit of a let down and people not being where they were supposed to be when they were supposed to be there.

It all just looked half assed. Coaching. Blocking. Route running. Ridiculous
 
we got up big and dawson condensed the playbook to not put much on tape.

then his qb got shaky so he even condensed more which i know cause he has done it with our last 3 qbs when he gets timid with them n sthrows screens abck to back to back to build em back up.

Only issue i have is why he never has a simple quick hitch pass to do so...,than the low probability buynch screens with lineman trying to gt out n block ...n also why he never has a rb screen.

Fourth Quarter targets. IF I ever hear another poster ***** about TEs not getting targets, I'm bumping this **** again.

Lofton: 2 of 4 for 3 yards. The two incompletions were down field.
Upshaw: 1 of 1 for 2 yards
Barkate: 1 of 1 for 1 yard
Moore: 1 of 1 for 1 yard
Toney: 1 of 1 for 1 yard
Fletcher: 0 of 1

9 passes, 4 to Lofton
0 passes to WRs beyond the line.

Don't want to hear about Dawson not targeting TEs until we have an first round NFL TE. Arroyo 16 catches/27 targets 196 yards in the NFL. At this point, I'm not sure Lofton makes it in the NFL.

lofton will not make the league as it stands right now.

Dawson def coached scared and played to get out of the place once they went up 31-7. again, we were up 31-7 on a decent/above average week team on the road.

well be fine imo. we do need to make OL changes though
 
Dawson is trash. He is carried by great players. The moment he has to actually coach he breaks down. We would have a 6th national championship right now with a decent OC. I’ll never forgive him for that. Total incompetence in the first half which spotted Indiana a 10 pt lead.

As absurd as running into the strength of the Indiana defense for 2 quarters in the national championship game. Crazy how running off tackle lead to big yardage and points. Those safeties were prime for being abused from the start. A career coach who never rose above the level of Houston is not someone who we should be content with. Mario’s recruiting overcame a bad OC. Dawson is holding us back because he is slow to adapt. Lsu had a young intelligent coach in Joe Brady who is now a head coach in the nfl. What is Dawsons ceiling? Coaching Tulane or UTSA. Would any nfl team look at him?

The quiet part is no one wants to admit alot if the struggles was due to mensah was shakey in that 2nd half when adversity hit. Then unfortunately we don’t have the run game or oline to carry us thru dry spots like we did in 2024 so everything collapsed
