I liked that benching

Been a Cane for 40 years. As much as I hate to admit it, we are not in the same league as Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma. Let's face reality, we are not really a top 4 team. Reason- We have been consistently inconsistent all year. Also remember that MR averaged almost 2 loses/year at GA. It is what it is.
During CMR time at Georgia the SEC was a truly strong and treacherous Conference. Be easy we are going to be great again. CMR has given us a **** of a season with mediocre to good pieces at his disposal, just be patient and grateful that we are playing for the ACC title and maybe more. You still have time to change teams jack!

Stupid move. 10 min to go in the 4th quarter. Your whole team is watching you, and you put in the backup for the most important drive of the game? Stupid.

3rd quarter? Fine. At that juncture of the game, just dumb.

3rd Q you send a message. 4th Q you just sent the message to Rosier and the entire country that you don’t trust him.

Awful, awful, awful move by Richt. Rosier stinks. I’ve thought I️t all year and didn’t say much here cause we were winning. But even as a rosier hater I️ say you let the kid have a shot to win I️t, being that he did I️t several times this year.

Terrible call by Richt.

What a message you send to any QB plays for you! You have a bad game after you give me the best undefeated record as a HQ (in a season) and if you have a bad game I will bench you in the last 10 minutes of the game. The message was, you are so bad that I'm willing to give the game to Pitt to teach you a lesson. Wow! Have you noticed how more energized Pitt players were after he benched Rosier?

This isn't Rosier's first bad game. The defense has been the staple for our season. Without this defense, we'd likely have another 3-4 losses on the year, possibly more.

Rosier was beyond awful. Like really bad.

so its richts fault his qb cant hit wide open receivers? we win going away if even one of those passes were on target?
Why you only have to focus on the QB? Rosier was bad today. What about special teams play? OL performance? The bad running game?

He deserved it, but it was bad timing.

Important drive at a crucial time in the game.

If you put another QB out there, its not ******* Sherriffs either.

If it is not Sherriff then who? That was my major problem with Ricths' decision. You don't a have better QB to substitute in the game who would give you a better chance to win, coming form behind in the last 10 minutes.

I strongly disagree with you. The only thing that those schools have on us is better QB play. This team has been inconsistent all year because our QB play has been inconsistent.

Good teams put Freshmen QBs in all of the time for whatever reason. See Clemson earlier in the season with Hunter Johnson getting some wacky time running the offense. Same with Bama with Tagovailoa. Fvck it, throw NKosi in. Throw Weldon in. Clearly could not have done worse then Sherriffs.

Where those teams behind on the road and in the 4th QR? Makes a huge difference.

So our OL, run game and special teams are great in you mind?

As ill timed a move as there can be. And then to throw two straight passes on top of that. Not smart. How does Travis Homer not get more solid carries called(not rpos) confuses the **** out of me. Aside from Rosier missing wide open receivers all game from what everyone has been saying, I was keeping track of the game on ESPN gamecast while at work. Travis Homer had 3-4 carries in the first half, Deejay a couple, while Malik had thrown the ball almost 20 times and carried for another half dozen. I'm about to watch the game here soon (had to allow myself to calm down first) but it's no way, even if Malik was on fire, that a Miami running game should go so absent. As a coach, there are so many ways to run the ball, and rpo dives isn't the only way.
Our O-Line got pushed around and they did not open holes or protect for ****.

Does it? Clearly not, considering Sherriffs stinks, stunk, and the end result was a wasted drive that set up Pitt to crockpot us on a 6m drive that essentially killed any chance we had at winning the game.

Richt could have put YOU out there and it would have been a wiser decision.

Nkosi redshirted didn’t he jack? Not his time yet

Rosier needed to stand on the sideline and observe for a series. Don't try and make it out to be some horrible coaching move. The QB has to hit the open guy and he was given tons of chances to do it on all kinds of different routes.

Richt didn't send in Shirreffs because he thought Shirreffs was about to light it up. He sent him in because Rosier needed to wake up.

Again, the timing was awful. If Richt didn't believe in Rosier and this game was the straw that broke the camel back then he could have waited tell next game and got another QB ready to start from kickoff. Not in the last 10 minutes on the road while trying to come from behind.

When you don't have an argument you revert to the old "go out their and do a better job". Supporting the coach doesn't mean you see every decision as a great one.

I've already explained my argument, its not my fault you aren't understanding it.

It was a bad decision, based on timing and who he replaced him with. Sherriffs is absolutely horrendous at QB and replacing Rosier, regardless of how bad he was playing for Sherriffs at such a crucial point in the game was a decision a veteran like Richt should be ashamed of. If you are replacing Rosier, you are looking to give the team a SPARK, something to get the team going. You don't put Sherriffs out there. If you put Perry or Weldon out there, I could buy what Richt was doing. But, he didn't. He put Sherriffs out there and it is one of the reasons why Miami ultimately loses what was a close game at that point. You go three and out and then Pitt milks the clock to an unwinnable situation for Miami.

Fin.

Come on dan, you're better than that. Most of this is about timing. The problem that I have (I believe most of us have) is WHEN he did it. 10 minutes left, down by 10, defense just got a stop and ball around the 50. This is the time to bring in Sherriffs for the predictable 3 and out? If you're thinking about doing this, do it when you come out of the locker room in the 3rd quarter. Any time but this. It basically threw up the white flag for the rest of the game. If not for a series of ridiculously lucky plays, they blow us out by 17 points. That situation is when you stick with the guy who brought you there and trust that he will figure it out. You just cannot bring in Sherriffs at that point under any circumstance.
