I know James is an idiot, but I'm not sure Manny won't get canned after this season if he doesn't turn it around

How could you possibly know what the coaching "fraternity" thinks? My guess is that they all know it was more of a situation where MR decided to step down IF the school hired Manny as the HC. Anybody with half a brain knows the fix was in with the Manny hiring.

Miami saved money by hiring the ESPN intern. Who the **** is this guy going to impress on the recruiting trail with that type of background?

Com'on man, you don't think the coaching world knows that Miami has some significant disadvantages to offset it pluses? They don't exist in a vacuum.

Let's do it your way. Who do you expect to hire if we fire a guy after one year?
Let’s do it your way. How about someone who’s actually been a power five head coach before and knows what the Fvck he’s doing! How about we start with that instead of the Manny Shannon dear in the headlights look we have now.

manny is not getting fired or going 7-6 this year. and he shouldn't. you don't fire a coach after one year unless they cheat or shoot the university president. that just is not a good look.

if he's 7-6 back to back? then you have some issues to address.

Exactly.

Diaz could go 2-10 this season; you can't fire a guy after one year, barring scandal.

Two years, maybe—but you usually give a coach three seasons—which is why this much turnover has been a disaster for Miami; now on its fifth different head coach in 14 years.

Yeah, but we can't rewind what has been done. You can't play make-believe to get the scenario you want.

If this board had it's way we would be on 14 coaches in 14 years, still waiting for that guy who's going to transform a broken program by September 30th in year one.

Are you suggesting that no one in America has personal access to any of the hundreds of coaches?

You're missing the point that this is much bigger than Manny. Miami is not the ideal destination you want to think it is.

Where in any of my posts did I say that Miami was the ideal destination for coaches?

Just because you think Miami is below the line of your "ideal destination" to coach at, doesn't mean they should have hired Manny.

The Miami AD and Admin most likely caved to the demands of an outdated coach in MR. They let him dictate the parameters of the next HC. This is the direct result of the spineless crap.

time has come to let Blake james GO!. we do not need anymore turnover at HC level. do we need more money or staff
**** YES... need coaches who can develop players....... we are a long, long, way from being relevant again
oh yeah, find an S&C guy like we used to have in Moffett who worked for Butch.
do you know how long it has been since we dominated LOS.....

That's great, but if you fire Manny you have to hire someone else. That's the part you're forgetting. And you're forgetting that Miami isn't the dream job for all of the elite coaches in the country.

Although James will probably want to offer him a raise and an extension regardless of what Manny does, I think the climate has changed on waiting for someone to build us back. If Manny goes like 7-6 or worse, I'm not sure he survives it, right or wrong. Too much unrest and too many dollars on the line, not to mention continued damage to the fan base.

Assuming Manny survives and gets one more season, he will have to clean out his staff. That is abundantly clear. He's not coming in with Richt's resume and therefore given miles of rope. Manuel has to turn this thing around and fast. He may look back at taking the UM job as a premature move in his career climb that might damage him going forward. I'm rooting for him, but I don't know....
Not going anywhere! Don’t know if he will get 4 years like Richt since Richt actually helped with the indoor facility and donations, but he will be around at least 3 years! If he wins in 2nd year, contract extension is coming! One thing for sure, Manny will Fire Enos and Blake if it does not work, I think he learned from the last; in some way!

There's no if about it.....he is getting fired,,,,,whether today or in two years.... fans are more than ok with rolling the dice on canning this bum and seeing who falls out the other side of an actual search.

YOU are an idiot.

Dude no one even likes his dad. The guy fleeced Miami and do you think UM wants any of that bad publicity that they kept on a failed coach forever because his dad was a failed mayor? Not even close! Um is at a tipping point here and everyone involved knows it. This thing will get so bad it’ll make what golden went through look like a cake walk.

Nothing shown by the University over the past 15+ years gives me any reason to believe that "everyone involved" has even the slightest clue about managing a D1 football program.

Our BOT and admin are the biggest bunch of incompetent drips I've ever seen. I don't believe for ONE SECOND that "everyone involved" knows ANYTHING useful.... except maybe how to grow tomatoes.

Bunch of braindead idiots.

So you are telling me that since there are some hurdles at UM, they did the correct thing by hiring the intern and not conducting an actual search?
Is that what we fans are supposed to believe now?

Nope, never said that. It was my impression that you were disagreeing that Miami has hurdles as it pertains to getting a top tier coach nothing more nothing less.

If anyone's getting canned it should be Flake James. Or at minimum, we should hire a football guy and give the title of associate athletic director for football and keep Flake James far away from our football program. We could poach Dorsey from FIU and give him said title.

Can’t wait for the next cheap disappointing hire . Maybe Blake goes on a limb and hires bobby Bowden
