I know James is an idiot, but I'm not sure Manny won't get canned after this season if he doesn't turn it around

Why not? Manny doesn't need to be kept around just to make a statement. He will never win at Miami. Temple is better off without him but for some reason certain fans at UM think he should be kept around for 3-4 years to make it "fair" for him.

Do you think that Temple would get rid of their current coach if Manny wanted in? Not a chance. They realize now that they dodged a huge bullet with this guy.

Let's do it your way. Who do you expect to hire if we fire a guy after one year?

Although James will probably want to offer him a raise and an extension regardless of what Manny does, I think the climate has changed on waiting for someone to build us back. If Manny goes like 7-6 or worse, I'm not sure he survives it, right or wrong. Too much unrest and too many dollars on the line, not to mention continued damage to the fan base.

Assuming Manny survives and gets one more season, he will have to clean out his staff. That is abundantly clear. He's not coming in with Richt's resume and therefore given miles of rope. Manuel has to turn this thing around and fast. He may look back at taking the UM job as a premature move in his career climb that might damage him going forward. I'm rooting for him, but I don't know....
Lol, Manny will be the coach in 2020 no matter how much you pout.

We'd have to go 2-10 for this pathetic BOT to even think about firing manny.

That said, I legitimately want him to be the guy, but if these sloppy *** mental errors keep happening or if some of these suspect staffers arent reevaluated when it comes to it...then..well..

They might both get canned. Richt wasn’t in Blake. This one is

manny is not getting fired or going 7-6 this year. and he shouldn't. you don't fire a coach after one year unless they cheat or shoot the university president. that just is not a good look.

if he's 7-6 back to back? then you have some issues to address.
There in lies the problem, this is not his first year here, it’s his fourth!!! And you better believe his leash is as short as it gets or Blake can kiss his job goodbye and UM can kiss there fans goodbye. You can only damage this relationship so much before fans say Fvck you UM, you won’t get a single cent from me.

I'm not giving Manny excuses because there has been a lot I am not pleased with but this is a false narrative. Williams started his first career game vs UF with a true frosh OT and a RS Fresh OT who has already lost his job to another Freshman.
We are young AF on offense. Yes, we have great skill players and always will but you cant tell me we were just needing a new scheme to be a top 10 team.
Williams has been excellent considering the Oline is below average and the scheme is limiting.
- The point wasn’t Top 10. It was Coastal Champ. An actual OC was supposed to put us in a position to win the Coastal.
- Our offense is easily the most talented in the Coastal
- None of what you stated was the condition in December of 2018. We were going to bring in online guys and a QB in the portal. O-line guy was a bust. QB didn’t beat out Jarren.
- Starting Freshman quarterback is no excuse for the ACC Coastal. Arguably an excuse for FBS these days

I am guessing you are asking that question as if potential coaches out there won't be able to recognize that Manny is a sht show. So you think they won't be able to recognize that Manny was hired without a hint of an actual search conducted.

How many times in their past has Miami fired a guy after one season? But now you think it may scare potential coaches away because they canned a bum after one dreadful season. Those potential coaches won't associate their abilities as a CEO to those of a journeyman DC who was handed a job he didn't deserve.

The coaching fraternity doesn't see it that way. And trust me, word has gotten around that coaching at Miami is a lot more difficult than the beach-and-5-star-recruit paradise you people make it out to be.

Three years, including this one. Unless he sees the light and makes adjustments, we are phu7ed.

He's got 3 years minimum. The buyout from Temple will keep him safe and I think Blake knows that his job hinges on Manny working out.
it’s ginna be a long $hitty 3 years and 2021 Alabama beat down will be the kiss of death just like Clemson in 2015. Smh it’d be better for everyone involved that Diaz and Blake James are fired at the end of next season if massive improvements and a 10 win minimum season is not achieved. This was not a rebuild hire, this was a make one adjustment (fix the offense) and instantly compete for coastal and ACC championships. And Diaz has done none of that! Heck this m offense looks just as bad as last year and the defense has gone down the $hitter.

Yep that Alabama game is going to send Manny on a one way trip the fxck out of here.

To be clear, I WANT him to succeed! I like the guy and think he is smart! Also, regardless of whether or not he should have gotten the job, he's our coach now and I want him to knock it out of the park. I'm just saying that if it became clear that he lost the confidence of the team and fans, the climate is such that he might be in danger. He needs to win now and he needs to make choices with the same cutthroat approach that he used during the offseason.

If you like him and think he's smart you don't fire him after 1 year

Maybe, just maybe you need to see a little larger sample size to make a better determination...crazy, but who knows.

How could you possibly know what the coaching "fraternity" thinks? My guess is that they all know it was more of a situation where MR decided to step down IF the school hired Manny as the HC. Anybody with half a brain knows the fix was in with the Manny hiring.

Miami saved money by hiring the ESPN intern. Who the **** is this guy going to impress on the recruiting trail with that type of background?

Manny ain’t getting fired. His father was the mayor of Miami for Christ sake. Too connected

Doesn’t matter how many games he lose or how many years he do it he ain’t going nowhere

Meanwhile FSU will stay out recruiting us even with corny willie corching it up over there. They will fire him and go hard after Urban Meyer while we stuck with the Cuban Radio.
Dude no one even likes his dad. The guy fleeced Miami and do you think UM wants any of that bad publicity that they kept on a failed coach forever because his dad was a failed mayor? Not even close! Um is at a tipping point here and everyone involved knows it. This thing will get so bad it’ll make what golden went through look like a cake walk.

Are you suggesting that no one in America has personal access to any of the hundreds of coaches?

You're missing the point that this is much bigger than Manny. Miami is not the ideal destination you want to think it is.
