I Know Its Fire Diaz, But if we don't🤔

I'm fully aware the majority of people on here want Diaz gone all together. However years past have shown the likelihood of him staying is high. To his credit, he usually attempts to address glaring issues in the off season. Which clearly this year will be DEFENSE.

Who should be in consideration for the next Defensive Coordinator here? Two off the top of my head Will Muschamp (Georgia Analyst) & Charlie Strong (Jacksonville ILB Coach) .

We're in a dilemma because we need a new DC and a new ST coordinator if Manny returns

The obvious choice is fire Patke and bring in a DC/LB coach. The obvious choice to be DC is Bob Shoop - and he's been very good at a lot of places. I'd be fine with it.

But he's never coached Linebacker and then that means someone else has to coach ST that is on staff. So it isn't going to happen.

You're gonna have to fire Patke and move Aristide to an off-field role. Hire a DC/LB and hire a ST coordinator and move the Strikers to be coached by either the DC or coached by TRob. OR keep Patke as ST/LB, move Aristide off-field, Shoop is DC and coaches nickels/strikers.. or same scenario except you fire Patke and hire a new ST coordinator that coaches LB.

Seems easier to just fire Diaz and start from scratch.

Well, then Diaz can coach special teams. He cannot ***** it more than Patke and it might improve. We are go at placekicker and hopefully the next Aussie is a legitimate replacement for Lou. Maybe we can give Diaz an ultimate like we did with Mark. Adios your son and he adios'd himself. Manny, adios your DC. Your move amigo.

Yep. Either you are loyal to a best friend (Onifrio) or a particular system (Diaz), knowing good and well that it isn’t working. This is the core problem. Loyalty should only be to the players and production, not a system or person.

IF, IF, IF Manny doesn't get fired but hires a homerun DC and completely turns the defense over to him then this is what a competent CEO or head coach would do.

I still have very little faith that Manny is the guy. He has had plenty of time, and as of now are regressing defensively.

The only counter argument I can think of is that there are games against elite talented and coached teams that occasionally give up considerable yards and points and that is the world of college football now.

Diaz has had change in staff for 3 yrs w/ the same results. He’s been given EVERYTHING he’s needed to succeed. I can’t recall a coach given this much leeway & excuses besides this doofus. We’re a consistent 7-8 win program under him…maybe, he’ll give us the good ole, once in a lifetime fraudulent Al Golden 9 win season; but, if u want consistent head scratching losses coupled w/ escaping by the hairs of our chinny chin chin wins over the likes of App St, sure….let’s get him a DC b/c he’s so “adaptable” & cares about winning from his standing alone photo at UNC’s field.

You are correct. Manny has been praised for trying to put lipstick on a pig for 3 off seasons. It is high time for people to realize he is the pig.
