There's been lots of talk about Butch, Schiano, etc.

But one person got mentioned to me today that I think might actually be a really interesting idea.

Ed Orgeron.

He's an incredible recruiter. Coached the D-Line for us including Cortez Kennedy, Russell Maryland, Sapp.

He has HC experience when he was at Ole Miss, and while Ole Miss did terrible the next few years Ole Miss did well with all the players he brought in. He was crazy as ****, but he grew up a lot. When kiffin was fired from USC he took the team 6-2.

He's the kind of coach who would inspire the players to really bring back the energy and passion that made us who we are.

The more I think about it the more I think he would bring in incredible talent and get us back to where we belong.

I was saying this last year, Ed Orgeron would be an A+ hire in my opinion as well. Realistically if we replace Al Folden this year Cristobal will be a front runner (just what I have heard).

Cristobal would be the worst!! 1. He already left on us for a "better gig". And Yes I know Alabama is better, but if he does really well at Miami which we would obviosuly love then he would leave for the next biggest offer ASAP. and 2. He got Fired as a head coach at FIU. Do we really think he's become a head coach that can resurrect our program after 2 yrs under Saban?

I would rather have Orgeron, Schiano, Butch, and plenty others with a lot more successful experience.

Not that I'm in love with either of them but I bet Cristobal and Kiffin have learned a lot about how to run a program under Saban.

Winning attitude and expectations go a long way in recruiting and college football in general.

Again... Let it go...

That's an incredibly risky and unnecessary bet.

We've got to stop grasping at every single former assistant who had success while they were at Miami. Just because these guys were here 15, 20 and 30 years ago does not mean that they will win because we had good programs then

If he was a defensive line coach for us in the 90s and he's still a d line coach in 2015 then no thank u

I agree 100%... While we went across town to hire Randy Melvin, LSU hired Orgeron... Way to go Golden..

Orgeron brings a ton of experience, as A Head Coach, an Interim Head Coach, Defensive line Coach, and One of the best recruiters out there... He won 2 National championships here at The U, and 2 at USC but those were eventually vacated because of violations against the school...

People will point to his time at Ole' Miss and that he failed there... If you look at guys like Pete Carroll(6-10 with the Jets) or Bill Belichick (36-44 with the Browns) Not everyone succeeds their first time out....

Orgeron deserves a 2nd chance as a Head Coach, he's exactly what this team needs... He's passionate, aggressive and will bring a tenacity that this team has been missing since our glory days...

Have you followed his career? He just needs another shot as a Head Coach, he did a Great Job as Interim Head Coach in 2013 at USC...

I believe everyone deserves a 2nd chance, especially since he's been so successful since his stint at Ole' Miss

Yeah I followed it. His record at Ole Miss was less than satisfying IMO. Don't get me wrong I think he's an excellent coach I just want an offensive guy this time around. The teams winning championships right now are the ones with high-powered offenses.

I don't disagree but a smart coach will hire the best and most creative guy out there...

The thing about Orgeron is he's an excellent recruiter and understands the players in our backyard

Maybe Cristobol saw enough of Al for the short time he was here to know he could come back in a few years and have the job. In the meantime, he could learn from one of the best, and learn the crooked SEC tactics it takes to be successful.

What about this makes you think Mario is any different then golden? The only reason people are saying this is because he's an alumni, no other programs are saying let's hire Mario
