They gave up 200 yards rushing to every team they have played this year including James Madison...No way there not losing a few times this year
 
I think UNC finishes coastal play with 1 loss at most. They played Pitt and FSU already. I think we will have a true home field advantage this year, so we'll find a way to beat UNC. One game I don't like is VT. They are playing decent right now.

That UNC OL line is no joke. That Pollack is smart, all 3 WRs are good and Hood is starting to play. That team is running on all cylinders.Fedora has a good game plan every week and the kids don't quit. The walkon LB led the team in tackles this week. I fear them the most of all the teams we play the rest of the year.

In 10 months on this board, I've downvoted a total of 13 post. You've probably posted 15+ times today alone. (I'm sure you could get me the exact statistics on that considering your keen ability to keep track of every single activity that goes on on this board) Anyhow, I apologize for insulting you Mr. Franchise. yeah if they don't get that fixed then I think gt beats them

They excel at offense but won't be able to get off the field against gt and get in an offensive rhythm

There will be two 1 loss teams standing in the Coastal when all is said and done.
Head to head will determine who plays Dabo's boys in Orlando.

Touche completely slipped my mind. Although they did have a **** of a problem with them and won in the final seconds
Gt will have to do our dirty work then

UNC has a lethal offense, but that defense leaves much to be desired.
Teams with subpar defenses are capable of losing games to teams they are supposed to beat.
They have the football version of the "glass jaw".

I hope you're right, old buddy. I don't see anyone, aside from us who can really punish that D, as bad as it is. They're going to score **** near as often as they want to when they're clicking.

Trubisky is deadly accurate and seems like he is clutch too, which is one question I had about him coming into the year because he's never had to be. Switzer is a pain in the ****. He's always open and never drops the ball. Seems like he's been there 12 years. They've got two excellent RBs too and 2 other high end WRs.

Yeah, that offense is something to behold when it is clicking.
But FSU was really, really bad on defense.
Lack of fundamentals and some of those players were sleep-walking.
I would keep an eye out on that NCState-UNC game.
Funny things happen in that rivalry.
But, yeah, we need to take care of business.

Fedora is 3-1 vs State but the wins were by 8, 8, and 9 points.
Not exactly dominant.

Yeah, GT is a pain in the ash. I'm looking for about 50 minutes time of possession for Gt in that one.
 
Weren't you the one telling me I was crazy for saying UNC and VTech will be very tough games?

Anyways, 1 game won't kill our chance unless that 1 game is to UNC. I think it's reasonable to assume if UNC beats VTech they can win out their conference games besides us. But I don't see VTech only losing 1 conference game.
So, Basically we NEED to beat UNC next week. And to answer the question, Unless VTech beats UNC this week, which I doubt happens, I really don't see us winning the Coastal with more than 1 conference loss. If we beat UNC we have the head to head tie breaker, and thats the key.


I will say, the winner of the coastal will basically be decided in the next 3 weeks seeing as how we have FSU, UNC, VTech back to back to back.
We win these 3 weeks, 98% chance we win the Coastal.

The only way I can see us making it into the coastal with a 6-2 record is if the following happens:

1. VT beats UNC, and

2. UM beats VT and UNC

Yup. Thats why I don't get why some people have said we should want UNC to beat VTech this week. That doesn't make any sense since UNC is the better team between the two, and VTech is more likely to lose an easy/toss-up game.
We beat UNC and VTech, we basically clinch the division.

Also if we do happen to get in a 3 way tie with UNC and VTech, I'm pretty sure the ND game would be the tie breaker for us. If we all only have 1 loss in conference to eachother, if we beat ND, we are undefeated out of conference while UNC and VTech both have already lost a game out of conference. But to even get to a 3 way tie we MUST beat the winner of the UNC-VTech game. Whoever wins that game probably becomes the most important game for us to win.

Of concern is depth at linebacker .If we can keep the young trio healthy we have a chance to beat anyone we play. Its a long season .But if we beat FSU anything can happen. The upperclassmen on this team have been on U teams that folded in the spotlight .It seems that these guys have bought in and are a big part to overcoming adversity and winning the second halves -particularly on defense, that we would lose in the not so Golden years.
