I forgot about QB Evan Shirreffs!

I will say this... I'm darned impressed with his footwork for a guy 6'6". Seriously, he moves well for a guy that big. I'm more impressed than I thought I'd be from watching that tape.

Also, while there were a lot of snaps from shotgun, his PA passes were a thing of beauty which tells me he's comfortable under center. You can't PA like that and not be comfortable under center.

The more I watch the more I'm impressed, the 4.0 GPA and 32 ACT is what really got me all giggly. Intelligence, in my belief, when combined with high skill sets- arm strength, excellent footwork, running skills and pure accuracy are what translates into a great QB. This kid has ALLLL the intangibles. If we get a professional level HC and OC/QB coach this kid will the toast of college football 2 years from right...wait for it....wait for it.....NOW! Yea I'm pushing all my chip in on him like Ditka did with Ricky Williams.

Really looking forward to seeing how he stacks up against Power 5 talent. I think he'll surprise.

I'm either out of my mind or you guys have gone crazy. My prediction is that he makes Crow look like a guy that has real potential. I dug into this kid a little. There was three kids on the opposing defenses he faced last year that recieved scholarship offers and I don't believe any of them were power 5 conference schools. All star games are meaningless, the rules favor the offenses-no blitzing for example.

Kid is definately smart and may be able to give us good looks on the scout team. He will never take a meaningful snap while at Miami.

I don't care about his competition. His passes looked darn good. His footwork looked great for a guy his size.

I look at it this way... I bet the talent on HIS team isn't all that great either, and he still put up great numbers.

I ask you to dig a little deeper, friend. Kid plays in a pretty good region in GA. Not the best, but pretty **** tough. I coach in the same classification in the state, so I should know. Now just because there were only 3 kids on his schedule with scholarship offers don't mean a whole lot when you know that these are small town kids that he's playing against that some of them aint qualified to play ANYWHERE. AAA schools in Ga pull kids from mostly small town, rural areas. There is some talent there. Some good talent. Some sick speed in alot of cases. I have coached against and seen more than a few of those teams play, and I know for a fact that there were at least 12-15 kids he's playing against that could play college ball on every level, if they had grades, coaches working for them, or had money for camps. A lot of these kids, slip through the cracks. He ain't played a whole lot of "No Doubt" D1 kids, but he has played vs. some good teams and kids.
Now I'm not saying this kid will light up CG, be a sure fire starter or become the next Hurricane legend (ala Dorsey), But not being a little bit excited about his talent and potential after watching this kids accuracy from the video when he is fitting the ball into really TIGHT WINDOWS, is selling him short.

Kane, only time will tell. I will trust in the judgement of every other coach across the country who chose not to offer Evan. Nice kid though.

True. I'll give u that, but I will say that none really knew about the kid because he spent a good deal of time leading up to his Sr. season injured. He couldn't go to the camps to get noticed. The one and maybe the ONLY POSITIVE THING that I can give J. Coley credit for, is evaluating Qb's. So We will definitely have to defer to Coley with this one. He's recruited som gems at the position.
Go get em, Sherriffs!!!
