I don't want to get carried away....

...But I think we might be back. We just completely dominated that football game. Most of the guys on BCC are from Florida, so they must be very good. I haven't seen defense like that since last year when we had that little run.

I know the crybabies are going to say that we just beat a bunch of cripples who might be a 3 win FCS team. But I'll be damned! That's a different Hurricanes team I saw tonight. Wake up the echoes because we looked like the old Jerome Brown/Cortez Kennedy defenses the way we pounded those Florida boys.

FAU's going to have their hands full with us next week. I think we're going to hammer them too. I'm guzzling that orange drink tonight, fellas!

I watched a lot of football this weekend, and I don't think any other FBS teams manhandled an FCS school all weekend. When's the last time we really took it to a horrible team? I can't recall us doing it.

would like to agree....but we still started slow having to convert two 4th downs got bailed out on a ****** call to allow a TD...
3rd down we still suck 3-11
and kaaya IMO looked jumpy or a BCU game he did not look comfortable again IMO...

Running game was solid as i said it would be

Defense was outstanding

Special teams would have been okay if not for Corn...
We still struggle to get the ball in the end zone on kick offs and one to start the game was OB...

Fgs looked good
Punt team seemed solid for what work they had...

yes very happy with outcome but 3rd down conv sucked as did some play calling again from Coley

Not claiming anything other than a W from tonight, but I do not agree on the 3 wins remaining.

Are you serious, come on brah this game shouldn't even count lol. Oh and for the record players did celebrate and congratulate with each other all last year when they made plays. Especially when we were in our little winning streak we had.

The defense played well, but that's how they're supposed to play against Bethune Cookman. The offense worried me. We seemed uninspired before the weather delay. We were marching down the field on Bethune Cookman. I didn't see any big plays through the air.

We looked like a high school team before the rain delay. Brad did not look sharp at all. Our receivers suck except scott. Waters and Lewis are terrible. Running game looks solid. Offensive line is going to get brad killed this year. Defense looked great but i have no doubt that corch D will go back to his ****** scheme as soon as we play a decent team. 4-8...

Can't wait till the commits start pouring in this week. What high school WR doesn't want to get blown up catching a bubble screen??? Who we stealing from U*** and the Criminoles Franchise????

Miami is talented enough to be undefeated going into FSU. Lets see if Al can get them there.

you guys do realize they shortened the game by ten minutes. the offense would've put close to 60 pts on the board in regulation. we obviously were calling a conservative offense cause we don't want to show our full playbook right off the bat. kaaya was ok to start, he got better as the game went on. this was a positive game. our defense hasn't looked that good in years. we actually had the d-line putting pressure on the qb most of the night. they worked as a unit and it showed in the stats. don't care if it was bcc or another team. to keep any team under 80 yards offense is an accomplishment. thats the sign of a good defense. they did exactly what they should do to an inferior opponent. I'm happy with the win. showed great improvement. on to the next game

A bit sad that (supposed) canes fans can't take any joy in a victory. I guess it's not that surprising, given the PTSD - inducing last couple of years. But it's sad nonetheless.

A bit sad that there are Canes fans ignorant enough to cheer "victories" against high school teams

oh how expectations have been neutered

FatAlGolden's biggest *** guzzler, Matt Porter, had the audacity to highlight the shutout by mentioning our last shutout…from 2010…against FAMU. LMFAOOOOO.

Our corch got **** canned at the end of 2010. So lets hope that history repeats it self.
LOl it was even the exact same score.

You actually take joy in a victory against Bethune? Really? The gap of talent between both teams is so large that it should be illegal for these games to be played. That's the sad part. Enjoy this "victory" super fan.

The game being shortened had no effect on the first half in which we were only up 10-0 when the weather delay hit. The only reason it was 10-0 and not 6-0 is because BCC had a brain fart and hit the kicker. We weren't that impressive on offense. We didn't change coordinators in the offseason and are putting in a new offense. Even calling simple plays there's no excuse to have had only 10 points at that point. Our O-line struggled opening holes early and we had no big plays against a lower tier team. One of our scores was a punt return and another our defense put us on a short field. We didn't march down the field on BCC like a good team should Then in the second half we play ultra conservative. Play with a killer instinct and put teams away. Teach them to finish an opponent.

Guilty. I enjoy every Canes victory, and without a shutout for five years, I'll take one even against the little sisters of the poor. Number 3 in total defense, baby!

Mods, still waiting on that name change to "superfan".

I propose "Don Bailey Jr's nut sack" as a more appropriate and applicable screen name

It's a bit sad that Canes fans can't be objective and actually rely on facts, instead of their girly *****ing on how they don't like Coach golden. The last time we played BCC, they ran up 350+ yards and converted on 3rd down more than 50% of the time. This time we allowed 78 yards? That's a big difference.

Here are the main reasons.
1. We have depth on the defensive side of the ball this year. How many players went pro when Golden came in and the NCAA Shapiro fiasco rolled in? Just like Penn State did OK last year, they will suck hard this year. The recruiting/depth issues take a year or two to rear their ugly heads. Hopefully we are only going to gain momentum and depth from this year forward. I see a steady upward progression with or without Golden. People underestimate the damage that Shapiro had on this program.
2. Unfortunately, the offense still has little depth and that showed in the second half as well. One or two players go down on the line and we're toast. Most of our late season swoons are because of depth and youth issues.
3. I'm not sold on Golden either. If we don't take a positive step this year, he needs to fired. Why? Because, from here on out, the path is clear for us to get back to Canes football. We can't keep Golden and limit the football program.

I feel Golden deserves some credit for getting us through the Shapiro nonsense relatively unscathed. ( it could've been a lot worse!) Let's give him a chance to succeed this year. If he fails, then on to the next coach. Who wants to come down here though?
