I don't think Manny survives the weekend

The team who scored the highest amount of points on Clemson this year was NC State which was 14 after 4 quarters (27 was the final). Georgia scored 10 on Clemson and that’s the #1 team in the nation at this moment. So, I’m curious to pick your brain. How many points do you think NC State scores on our gReAt dEfeNcE.

Before TVD kicked the hornets nest? 35. After? 60. So we can thank TVD after the game for motivating NC St to blowout UM and getting Diaz fired.

And let me preface this by saying I almost never, ever bet this team, and am usually WAY more optimistic than most fans. So, take this with a grain of salt, as I'm usually wrong (hence the reason I rarely bet on or against Miami).......but I think this is the last weekend for Manny here. I think we're going to get beaten rather convincingly on Saturday and, at 2-5 with yet another home loss on national TV in which we're not especially competitive as only a 3 point dog, they're going to have no choice but to finally let him go.

To me, NC State is the kind of team who can expose Miami badly. In a sense, they're a better Michigan State. The only teams that Miami can beat are teams with really poor defenses, like UVA and UNC (I know we didn't win, but both games were close and could have easily been wins), that they can potentially outscore. Or teams with very poor QBs that they can limit (App State). They can't beat good defenses. And they can't limit good QBs. If you're just a balanced team, Miami really has very little shot, because any good QB is going to score on our defense, and any good defense is going to punish our terrible OL.

NC State is exactly that, IMO. Devin Leary is a good player, and yet while he's not explosive (72nd in the country in YPA, -35 rushing yards on the year), he's very accurate and doesn't make many mistakes (65% completion rate, only 2 INTs in 6 games). Also, they have two kids who are in the top 4 in the conference in missed tackles forced. Zonovan Knight is 2nd with 35 and Ricky Person is 4th with 34. What does Miami struggle with? Limiting QB completion percentage (we're 79th in the country) and missing tackles (worst on planet Earth, possibly beyond). So, I really don't see our defense holding them under 30 points.

On offense, we've started insanely slow the last 2 games with TVD as the QB. In both his starts, we have a grand total of 1 first down in the first quarter of BOTH games combined. And what is the strength of the NC State team? Defense. This is NOT Virginia and NOT North Carolina. UVA is 106th in YPP allowed, UNC is 61st. NC State? 18th. How do they do it? They're near the bottom in sacks and TFLs, so they don't get a lot of negative plays. What they do is play smart, sound football, and they're EXCELLENT on 3rd downs. 2nd in the entire country in defensive 3rd down conversion % allowed. They also don't allow explosive plays. They've only allowed ONE play over 40 yards all year (In contrast, our defense has allowed 6). So they make you earn everything. Not a good recipe with an inaccurate, freshman QB (TVD has completed 47.2% of his passes against FBS competition, which were he qualified, would be far and away dead last in the entire country). So, I really don't see our offense scoring 30 or much above it, unless something really crazy happens (special teams/defensive TD, one of their DBs blows a hammy in coverage, penalties, etc). If this is a "normal" clean game, I really don't see how they don't win by 10+ points.

And if we go out there *AGAIN* against a team who has less talent on paper than we do, at home, on ESPN2, in primetime, and lose something like 35-23, how can you possibly justify keeping a 2-5 Manny when we'll essentially be officially eliminated from any and all of our preseason goals? I don't see how you can justify keeping him now, but I guess the dumbass thinking is "well, the games were close and the team is competitive". Sadly, I don't think that will be the case this week.

(All this to say, bet your life on Miami. We're going to win 58-10, because nothing makes any ******* sense around here)
I thought this one was the most winnable of this three game stretch and still believe so. The one thing we play good defense against is pocket passer QBs. Hope we can win just for the games to be fun again. If we lose this one and Pitt it’s over in season for Manny.

Think at this point it has nothing to do with wins and losses and everything to do with they are holding out till they have James replacement in play. Everyone I guess for the most part knows BJ and manny are done. It’s just a matter of who will take the next actions

Well Manny we’re about to go 0-7 against P5 teams and I think there might be only 2 or 3 other programs in all of cfb that that has happened to. And losing to FSU should be more than a death sentence.
You have literally made yourself unemployable in cfb. At least d no and Goldie are still working at some capacity I believe. You made yourself the equivalent of cfb herpes.

You were a coaching mistake.

I can't wait to see what contrived "Sad Keanu" picture Manny cooks up this week. What do you think, will it be Manny sitting on a bench in the rain, with a single tear running down his cheek? Maybe it will even be in black&white
With ‘ Send in the Clowns’ playing softly in the background…

Last I heard d no was still working.....selling insurance

If not NC State, Pitt will for sure deliver the death punch

Gambling tip

NC Stare TT over 27.5
NC State 1H -1.5

I’ve made over $300 this year betting this exact formula every game
The 1H spread for the other team is always a great bet when betting Miami. We always come out flat under Manny.

I don‘t see NC State blowing us out for a couple reasons, at least 1 of which is sure to be controversial.
1. Our offense is good enough to score 24 points in almost every game short of Bama. We have a pretty good QB, some good running backs and some good young receivers (Not so controversial)
2. Our OL gets better as the game goes on so Severn if we are down we have the ability to score and keep the game closer than it should be. I believe that UM is in better condition than most teams we have played, certainly UVA and UNC,a new this allowed the OL to contain pressure well in the 2nd half and open up some running lanes. (Controversial)

Yes I provided a positive about UM‘s conditioning. And you can slam me all you want but it was obvious in the past 2 games that the UM offense was better conditioned than the UVA and UNC defenses. And I beleive that factor, more than better play calling or a QB heating us, is the reason we came back in both games.
And I think conditioning is likely to help us again. Expect UM to be down by 14 at half and make it respectable in the 2nd half and lose by 7-10.

Brace for disappointment.

I don't think NC State QB is that wonderful, and with TVD on the upswing (with Garcia looking over his shoulder and done with crying over the last close call) I think Vegas making it a 3-point game says a lot. I understand the Manny-bye-bye issue hopes, but a blowout is not at all likely, and we could even sneak out a win here.

I have the same feeling. Of course I could be wrong and he could be safe no matter what happens. I just think it's so toxic right now that a 2-5 record while being essentially blown out (which was the premise of my entire post, not that we're going to lose but IMO we lose by multiple scores) and he can't survive.
Aligning with @Go Canes!! on any point is hella foul, but hope you’re right
