As of right now, Miami has only 3 of the best 50 players in their backyard? 4 since I think this list was created before Walton reclassified.

So, 4 out of the 50 best players within a 30 minute car ride are committed to Golden. The most talent rich area in the country, and as of right now, we are only taking 4 of them?

It appears Al Golden has succeeded in building a fence around SoFla, except he left himself on the other side.

List compiled by Miami Herald recruiting analyst Larry Blustein:

Golden thinks he is smarter than the room and historical precedent when it comes to south FL talent. **** this fat cold cut eating, meat sweats having piece of ****!

Cronk, Small, Alexander and Davante are way too low on the Dade list. Carlton and Callaway should be on list too.

Clarington, Sheppard and Brewton too high on the list.

I believe this was pre-season or after spring or something.

Cronk was ours, you know the deal.

Staff didn't want Sheppard too much.

Clarington would be a commit if it wasn't for his grades.

Phillips been a done deal to FSU since Dalvin signed with FSU.

Durante doesn't have the grades, he will end up at WVU or Prep.

Gibson wanted a spread system.

Ridley and SBB our own fault. We ****ed up.

Staff didn't want Tarvarus or Kendrell. Kendrell loved Miami.

Cole, his grades and legal issues pushed him away for us. He will end up at WVU.

Strowbridge burned us for Kentucky. Not sure how high staff had him.

Peete is still in play for us but grades are an issue.

Kilby-Lane wasn't recruited much for some reason.

Staff cooled on Leeward.

Staff not recruiting Hoggins much for whatever reason it may be.

..... Why oh why. Sigh.

DMoney put it perfectly in a recent thread when he said this staff neglects South Florida ballers due to their preference for out of state coal shovelers, which is a nonsensical approach that kills depth and dramatically hurts overall team speed.

And now you see the staff offering LBs from New Jersey instead of going after guys from Broward like Talan or Archer. The staff is not only incapable of landing anywhere near enough blue-chippers from our own backyard, but they exacerbate the problem by neglecting underrated talent from Dade, Broward, etc. because of awful evaluations.

Talan is extremely underrated I want him. Would love for them to pursue Archer too if we miss out on some targets.

I don't know, to me, if I know a certain area produces the most NFL talent (or, just pure talent overall, obviously) I'm going to do my **** best to load up on as any players from that region as I can.

Especially when my school is sitting smack dab in the middle of it. It makes no sense. I guess like 01 said, DMoney was right? They'll pass up on the SoFla kids that can just flat out play, and opt for "coachable" "more prototypical" sized coal shovelers instead.

Miami should be working inside out. Dade. Broward. Palm Beach first. Then fill out the class.

This man knows his football. Thank you.

Tri-county kids should be the focal point of every class, especially skill position kids.

Coaches are laughing at AL because they come in are just plucking the good ones away. and they probably cant believe UM never offered.

UM Commits (3) (Johnson, Scarlett, McIntosh), #1 guy on both lists.

Positions we don't need at this point (18):
I would take our commits over anyone on the list at these positions:
5 QB - we want one QB and have Lawson
5 RBs not named Scarlett, Walton, Williams
2 OL one former commit who staff cooled down on
1 DT (6'0" 240 3 star, not exactly going to help)
1 Ath (3 star, WR/QB with 4.92 speed)
1 TE (grade issue)
3 DE not including McIntosh

The only guys we are missing are:
10 WR (we need 1-2 more) 2 committed (Chatman, Rosier)
Pursuing: Phillips

8 LB (We need a 2-3 more) 2 committed (Perry, Gordinier)
Pursuing:

11 DB (we need 2-3 more) 2 committed (Johnson, Jackson)
Pursuing: Irvin, Davis, Burgess-Becker

You can see Geo's explanation for some of these guys. The others are not great prospects. Just because there is a list 50 of and we only have 3 does not mean we failed. We had 5 and cut 2.

"Are we not supposed to beat Alabama down here?"
"out of the top 10 players in SFL we have none committed, that will change"
"We have to put the fence back up around SFL".
"Are we not supposed to beat BAMA, UF, FSU down here? Five rings in that office down the hall Add those guys together they don't have five rings We have to start thinking like we're the University of Miami again"

This is the best post ive read of yours. This is exactly what ive been saying about AG's ego and being set in his ways ala Tom Coughlin was with the NYG. He changed his views and adapted and results were 2 Super Bowls. AG needs to have that type of revelation if hes going to be here. Just take the local talent and worry about where they fit after. I dont mind going out of state for a few prospects here and there but 85% of targets should be SFL.

Another two players who should be on that Dade list are Fenton and Redwine.

cross reference those lists with Al Grohlden camp attendeed and you'll see where our time is spent, fml
