I bet Thomas returns a kick this week

Kid is slowly gaining confidence. I have a feeling he houses one this week whether its a KO or PR in mop up.

His blocking has been pathetic thus far, but his vision hasnt been great either If we give him a crease I think he could make it happen
 
hope he ignores his blocking on one and chooses to make a play and ad lib a lil bit

I wonder if that hasn't been part of the problem. Remember Bandy this week saying part of his adjustment coming to college was learning how to depend on and use his help, as opposed to high school where he was "The Guy?" I haven't really tried to break his returns down, so I'm just putting the question out there. Is it possibly a case of him having been used to being the man and not yet knowing how to effectively use his blockers and find running lanes?
 
He hasn't had the special teams blocking to do it. But UNC is so hurt they got walk-ons playing special teams, so maybe?

Exactly, if he does do it then it will have to be one of those gifts that everything happened to work right. Most of the time I considered it a good return if we can just make it to the 25
 
I really don't expect our kick return unit to be out there very often. He might only get 1 or 2 chances.

Its not him, the blocking on Kick Return has been awful, leaving guys running free right to the returner almost every time
 
Special teams overall has been somewhat disappointing, outside of maybe Berrios on PR and Badgley kicking.

A lot has to do with roster depth. I expect to be much better next year with all the freaks we have coming in.
 
they run to the SAME **** SIDE and end up in the SAME **** PLACE on the field on every KO.I pointed this out last week that EVERY KO return goes to the right.
The one he had a decent return on last week was one that he started RIGHT and reversed his direction toward the left.

Petty easy for the other team to stop your KO returner if you know right where he will be on EVERY KO..

I’ll prob get crucified for this but I don’t think Jeff has a great feel for being a KR right now. Yeah blocking has been poor but it seems like he has his down when he’s running and not looking for the open hole. That willl come with time I’m sure and def better blocking would help
 
Someone says this every week but he hasn't come close.

Would like to see them give someone else a look, perhaps flip he and Dallas so that Dallas receives those kicks.

Yeah Thomas doesn't have the feel for it yet. I wouldn't mind seeing Homer try it but he's too valuable
