I am guessing we wont hear anything this week now.

Chris stock basically saying today what is inferred. BOT is split in half between betas and alphas. Sounds like there is a legit chance we do nothing.
There's just no way that even the BOT is this stupid. To do nothing after declaring you're serious??? It would be the most dysfunctional thing possible and a lot of fans, including myself, would be done forever.

What an absolute embarrassment. I'm hoping this is just the betas feeding misinformation to Stock and Ferman one last time to feel important on their way out.

I have a question. Is the BOT vote the end all be all on approving a new AD and coach? Can Frenk just say **** all that and do what he wants? I realize that's not ideal for him to ignore a majority vote (hypothetically) but can he do that?

So we should pay $2 million for the pleasure of firing a guy a couple of days early?
Lol if it's not their money they are happy to say yes. We would be saving an extra 7% of the money we are excited is being added to the athletic budget and they'd rather spend 7% to fire diaz a week earlier despite it having no affect or impact on anything that happens later on lol.

Yep. I said there was was a vote and a result that same day. I believe that was Sunday afternoon / night.

JBN71, That's really encouraging. Few questions: Do you have insight into how Zo would split responsibilities with the AD? Do you know the conditions of the stepdown in Manny's buyout (last game, 12/1, 12/31, after bowl game), is it $2.5M? Is the alleged "civil war" at BOT about names of AD candidates, names of coaching candidates, overall commitment of resources, all of the above?

I recognize you may not want to opine on, or be privy to, any of these topics. Whatever you can say is, as always, greatly appreciated.

Again, it’s all in the optics. Blake was just canned last Monday. It’s kinda like getting a divorce and start dating your ex’s sister the next day. Or, a coach retires and another is hired in 12 hours. Plus there’s a holiday this week.

I don’t see it as bad thing that the powers that be are taking their time. Could be any number of things being worked out. That said, it hopefully won’t drag on too much longer because there are several other HC openings and recruiting is a major consideration.
^^^^^this^^^^^

An employee can be announced as being let go before the actual termination date. So a Nov. 28 announcement does not mean Diaz is no longer an employee.

Is there ever really a “right time” to start dating your ex’s sister? I mean obviously strictly speaking optics here...

That's legit editorializing. It also doesn't surprise me that there's a divide between the new money and the same snowflakes that have let the athletic department get to where it is today.

Thankfully, the folks that want to do something about have the big boy money.

I hope they threaten to withhold if they don’t get their way. I’m sorry but I cannot do another year of Manny.

I am not an insider but I do know a couple of BOT members. I will not speak on candidates but I do not believe a background search is holding things up. Candidates are vetted before consideration by the BOT. Do you really think they would convene a meeting of all BOT members, deliberate for hours and then hold a vote without conducting a detailed background and reputation search on the candidates? Sure, they might conduct another routine search of public records looking for recent arrests following the last inquiry but the essential information needed to make a decision was known by those voting beforehand.

Any perceived delay by fans is probably due to timing and optics. The time for debating has passed.
