I am a Syracuse fan today

Our chances evaporated when Pittsburgh blew that game last week. Duke isn't losing two of their final four to the Cuse, Wake, UNC or VT. If they had lost to Pitt they would have definitely been ripe for another loss. They won't lose two to that final four on their schedule.

Pretty sure the discourse around here is based off scenarios if we beat FSU. Shouldn't even have the discussion otherwise. I do see Dook dropping one of their remaining but not two, as you said.

Yeah, the Pitt loss hurt bad. Duke has a laughably weak schedule, not playing FSU, Clemson, or Louisville in the ACC. Then they luck out with Pitt missing a PAT-length field goal and now Syracuse is down to their 3rd string QB and they are missing 3 of their O-line starters.

all we had to do was beat Paul Johnson`s high school offense....just like Duke did. If you get embarrassed by GT, then you dont deserve to win the coastal. PERIOD. One of the worst losses this program has ever had.

how the ACC works is a joke. the schedule's are unbalanced. It should be based on your division record, not your conference record. Miami plays @ Louisville and #2 ranked team. Duke plays Wake Forest and some other slap **** team from the Atlantic. Should we have beaten in Georgia Tech and controlled our own destiny? Of course, but they shouldn't be crowning division champions over these differing schedules. Everyone in the Coastal plays each other. It's a fair way to decide the winner of the division since you know, everyone plays the same schedule. If there is a tie within the division then the tiebreaker should be head to head and then the total conference record.

The current way it's set up is stupid. It would be the biggest crock of **** if Miami for example went undefeated in the division but lost to #5 Clemson and #4 Florida State, and Duke swept BC and Wake Forest and only had one loss to Miami, and got in over Miami. The schedules are unbalanced, the whole set up is wrong.

When I try and figure out our Coastal chances I have us with one more loss. If we beat FSU, @ UVA the following week is a monster trap game. I think we will lose one of those two games. I would love to be wrong but that is tough a little stretch right there. UVA at home already beat Louisville and they should have beaten UCLA.

The only way to look at is that Duke needs to lose two games and GT needs to lose to Clemson for us to have even a thread of a chance. If we beat FSU and lost to UVA we would still have a **** of a time even if GT and Duke lost the games we would need because then the tie breaker of "division record" would have us with two.

Agreed but I personally just stop even thinking about it if I have to factor in another loss for us.

Anyone remember when Cuse used to actually field a football team? There's even a rumor out there that they once embarrassed a guy held as a saint in coaching around here by a 50+ point margin. Ahhhh, the good ol' Big East.

Cuse is tough to watch today and ncstate is wallowing in their own urine against GT. No calvary today.
