I actually don't mind Richt not hiring an OC

When it fails we won't be out more money and have better reason to curtain call him. At least he can't reasonably blame it on someone else now and scape goat into an extra year or two.

Just think of it this way:
Coker - Cheap hire , lazy but acceptable until year 2006
Shannon - Cheap hire, lazy and not acceptable. So lazy all our 5* recruits came from 1 school.
Golden - More expensive hire all the money went to a house underneath the Palmetto expressway and his best fwiend
Richt - Most expensive hire no money spent on good staff, results meh for the most part.
Next Coach - Most expensive hire and boat loads of money spent on good staff, results TBD.
your reasoning is fine one addition Blake James must go as well....... he has not really covered himself in glory with key hires in Baseball now his HR hire in football has backfired.........
BTW Dawg fans are Laughing their rear end off at hire, feeling is it should have happened 4-6 years ago. no fire in the belly
and stubborn

Why wait until next season? The West Virginia bowl game will tell us everything we need to know. If Jack Allison balls out in that game, we know Richt is the problem.
you need to watch the ******* West Va bowl game to know Mork is THE PROBLEM ?

Repeat this real slow ....... MIAMI LOST TO DOOK !!!

now go do your homework.

That's a lot of hindsight bias, my man. Sure, we know now that those losses were nails in the coffin, but that's only because we saw how the rest of those stretches went. There's some losses early in the JJ and Butch eras that may have looked like nails in the coffin, too.

To reiterate, I'm not at all confident in Richt right now, but I do hope we are all wrong and he turns it around. Not banking on it, but will root for him to succeed (at least, until it's abundantly clear that he is imminently going to be fired).

You're probably right. I am praying for a miracle beginning tomorrow.

Didn’t really read OP, but hope it’s because it means richts gone quicker

For me, with Richt it was the UVA game. I gave him a mulligan for LSU, knowing that we had some headwinds in that one, and frankly given that LSU is a talented enough team to beat anyone on any given day. Eyebrows were raised and the leash was shorter, but at least for me, I wasn't done with him after that game. What happened between that game and UVA, however?? Holy **** did he take the wrong choice at every possible opportunity! Complete debacle. This board could have truly managed the team better by American Idol style voting over major decisions than he did.

I can't imagine anyone would disagree for Coker it was the LSU Peach Bowl. I think even he was shocked when they brought him back for another season after that debacle.

I don't even remember for Shannon. That thing went so bad in so many ways and was so tinged in tension for reasons other than football, that was one that I just took a breath from the team for a bit, but was also at a different point in my life and being single and chasing tail was an excellent distraction, so it wasn't so personal to me at the time.

Golden's "finest hour" is certainly debatable, but I would agree that for me it was that Louisville bowl game. That **** was painful and embarrassing, and ruined an otherwise nearly perfect evening. I was completely done with him at that point.

urban meyer 2020.

I hate that scumbag, but would love him if he were our coach. Immediate success! He'd make Richt and his predecessors look like amateurs. Recruits would be LINED up (taking numbers) to play under him at UM. BAMA would have major issues.

It will never happen. Sadly.

Knowing our luck Urban would come here and lose more games than he has in his entire career

“...Court documents also show Golden was initially entitled to a base salary of $150,000 per year, though that was eventually raised to $160,000. Miami also agreed to provide the former coach with a luxury automobile during the terms of his contract, a $700 monthly stipend for a car for his wife Kelly, and the school agreed to pay for Golden’s membership at the Deering Bay Country Club....”
