I actually don't mind Richt not hiring an OC

Brett Romberg on 790 said Mario told him he will never come back to Miami, something to do with not being offered the HC

Hope this is just hurt feelings.. i could legitimately see Mario as our Dabo with the right AD and admin supporting him. Mario will pure x&o coordinators would kill it here

I do, it shows that he's checked out mentally.

That's fine, Mark, but do it on your own time. Don't waste a year of our lives watching ******, inept offensive football again.

I hate this mentality. There's no way I'm going to be happy about a coach's inept decisions just because it means they might get fired sooner. I wanted Coker, Shannon, Golden to succeed, and I want Richt to succeed too... Because I want the Canes to succeed!!! So I'm ****ed at Richt's repeated bad decisions, and no, the thought of him being fired in the future does not really make up for that.

i know.

do you know what goldens salary was? **** lemme just tell you.

Shannon was making $900k
Golden was making $150k with an incentive heavy contract.
he hit all the incentives which were talk to joe rose related and go on the hurricane hotline show.

I'm a lot of things, but retarded isn't one of them. I don't have any faith in Richt's system, but that's different than what you're saying. We had what, maybe 3 years between rooting for the team to lose so al would get fired and now rooting for the team to fail so Richt can get fired? It's too much for me. I'm hoping Richt gets his head out of his *** and gets this fixed. I'm not hopeful, but I'm hoping. Whatever happens, we're in for at least a few more years of pain and I'll be *****ing about every single day of every single one of those years. What I won't do is root for the Canes to lose. I get why people would, but I won't.

Amen Brother!

tbh ****it. It either works, or it gets him fired. Its a lot easier to judge the body of work if he doesn't make a change so, if he's doubling down on himself and his son, then so be it. Lets see who comes out on top of this.

I've tried. I can't. I hated Al Golden by the end but gotdammit that mother****in loss to Clem$on hurt me bad. No matter how much I may hate that ******* coach wearing our colors, no matter how much I may yell at the TV or go to the stadium and boo the coach's terrible decisions, I can't help but cheer and yell when we're on D and I can't help but want the team to win.

Besides, there's no ******* point in rooting for your own team to lose. Newsflash, rooting does not affect the outcome. OK, you want to take some solace in the silver lining of a loss that it might mean we are one day closer to having a future once again, I get that, and I do drown my tears with that. But no matter how much I know we're doomed, regardless of whether I may stop buying tickets, making donations, and stop going to games, I just can't help but still pull for the team.

But that's me. Everybody's got to grieve in their own way. For some, it means never getting past the denial stage. For others, it means getting over denial, but getting stuck on anger. Everyone handles loss differently. Let God judge, the rest of us should just support each other.

im gonna clarify this one last time. I AM ROOTING FOR US TO WIN. I am simply saying there is no downside to Mark not hiring an OC. if we win we win. if we lose it is on him and his days are numbered. I WILL ALWAYS WANT THE CANES TO WIN. but what I don't want to happen is Mark finding a fall guy for his system if it fails. let's face it, that is all he would have hired in any event.

This I agree with. Let the thing play out. Hopefully he proves us all wrong. I doubt it, but I hope so.

Once it became obvious that we hired another dud (LSU 2018 imo) the clock began to tick until the inevitable happens, which is Richt getting fired for being proud, stubborn, and lazy. Every month spent with Richt as our coach is another nail in our coffin. Maybe a miracle season in 2019 can slow down the impending maelstrom but the clock is ticking.

For Coker it was the LSU Peach Bowl in 2005
For Shannon it was FSU in 2010
For Golden it was UL in the 2013 champs sports bowl
For Richt it was the LSU game

im rooting for the canes. im just being realistic. you cant win games putting up less than 24 on offense a game against P5 teams. tell me why you think RIcht's system can do that next year and i will listen.

last 3 years scoring avg versus P5 net of defensive scores, 27.2 ppg, 24.6 ppg, 21.4 ppg. trending down hard. nearly 1 TD a game in 3 years.

Yeah Richt without a good OC will fail. Even as a fan you should be able to admit that he has shown nothing to prove otherwise.

Him not hiring an OC is a slap in the face of his critics and a sign of hubris. Pride always comes before the fall.

That's a lot of hindsight bias, my man. Sure, we know now that those losses were nails in the coffin, but that's only because we saw how the rest of those stretches went. There's some losses early in the JJ and Butch eras that may have looked like nails in the coffin, too.

To reiterate, I'm not at all confident in Richt right now, but I do hope we are all wrong and he turns it around. Not banking on it, but will root for him to succeed (at least, until it's abundantly clear that he is imminently going to be fired).

The next coach will probably be Mario, whether people like it or not.
Oregon has a boat load of money and great facilities BTW he is killing it recruiting wise on west coast.
Phil Knight wants a playoff program. AD/BOT at Miami they want the money program generates but none of commitment to be champs again. He's not coming back..... Manny maybe
