My expertise is more of the rules.

So here is my question. Mario is a terrible gameday coach, and he’s not going anywhere. So, what do you think is the path foward? Which option? Help me out.

A. Dawson stays and he runs his offense without any interference at all OR

B. Mario replaces Dawson with another OC and this new OC runs his offense without any interference AND

If option B is your choice, what OC would you want?

It’s a slow day in the office. And I’m still ****ed about Saturday.

He will fire Dawson.

How many coordinators has he had in the last 4 years?

If he has any care for the school he will hire a better OC and let them run what they want.

You know the funniest **** about all of this. His Oline grades out better in pass blocking than run blocking yet this stooge keeps allowing or insisting upon interior designed runs.

Cam ward had all day to throw. So does Beck. But let's do another dive and get our running back hurt.

Valid discussion but essentially pointless and these always turn into chicken/egg conversations because we don't know what's going on behind closed doors. We've run the ball 26 consecutive times on 3rd/4th and 1 or 2. 26 times in a row. Is Mario dictating that? When we get into a 3rd and 1, does Mario demand Dawson to line up in 13 personnel and run duo? I have thoughts about that, but at the end of the day, nobody really knows what kind of interference Dawson is getting, if any.

So these are moot discussions, albeit important and valid. And the end of the day, everyone's complicit, starting and ending with Mario. But I simply cannot accept the fact that one person is solely to blame for running the football (Mario or Dawson) on 26 consecutive short yardage plays, when we're not exactly great at it to begin with. The entire operation is broken right now. The plan of attack, the execution, the trust, the flow, the creativity, it's all completely stuck in neutral and not good enough, and that's on everyone, Mario and Dawson obviously included and at the center.

Hope and pray someone close to him convinces him his offensive identity is hurting us and won’t get us anywhere.

Hopefully that person(s) opens his eyes and he goes and get a OC that’ll have full control and has a history of putting up points and using its athletes.

Go get whoever the OC version of Heatherman is this year in college.

I believe Mario does love UM and wants the best for it.. so I’m hoping everything I said comes to fruition. If not.. we’re beyond ****ed..

I don't think he gets rid of Dawson but maybe he let's Dawson run the whole offense instead of compartmentalizing the run offense. I could see Dawson jumping to another gig if things don't change.

if he hires a new OC I see more of the same, and I see no competent OC worth his salt take a position where he doesn't have complete control.

He could also adjust how he recruits the qb position to be more dual threat skill wise. That added threat would make this current offense more variable in the run game.

While not admitting it publicly I think he knows he needs to adjust.

I would love Locksley who just got canned by Maryland. Both worked together under Saban but I doubt he will take a job. But Mario would probably stay out of game planning more bc they worked together

We're playing coordinator musical chairs for the foreseeable future. Last year the excuse was Guidry, this season it will be Dawson, and on and on, cuz it can't be Mario, ever.
It keeps going up the ladder. People hated Coker’s OC, then Coker, then Paul Dee, then Shalala, then all of them were replaced. Eventually the board of trustees were blamed but no one here can name any of them.

My solution

1. Convince Cincy’s Brendan Sorsby to do a Cam Ward, play for 1 yr at Miami and go from 2nd rounder to #1 overall
Cost: est NIL cost 5 million

2. Encourage Dawson to take a HC job elsewhere and hire a new OC.
Note: I haven’t really gone through the list of possible OCs so I will defer to the board. I will suggest a name everyone will hate, Ken Dorsey. Yes he’s a Miami guy. But Josh Allen and Cam Ward credit Dorsey for making them better QBs. And Sorsby is another Josh Allen. I think Dorsey failed at Buffalo because he was very new to play calling and the nfl isn’t where you learn to call plays. Just as importantly, I think Dorsey would be immune to pressure from Cristobal to go caveman.
Cost: about same as Dawson

3. Get a real threat at RB. The RB room is ok but we don’t have anyone who scares a defense. Ask Isaac Brown and send an apology note
Cost 500k to 800k

4. Get a legit LB corps -
Mario has failed to recruit this position so need to get at least 2 good ones from the portal.
Cost 1.25 million (750k for a top LB, 500k for a good LB to play alongside)

5. Replace safeties
Same cost 1.25 millon

6. Fill in other positions Mario hasn’t recruited well
Cost: 2 million NIL for all the other positions combined, focus on DL

Total cost around 10 million-
Half the price of the rumored cost of the Ohio St roster last season (20 million)

Pretty good bang for the buck to have a championship roster at half the price of what OSU paid.

its gonna be B because the HC has no answer to anything related to actual x and o. **** change coaches before he gives up his vision in the run game. it doesnt matter who get as OC if mirabal/mario impose their vision.

you need to bring the OC and let him do what he wants - identity, scheme, play calling, etc.

tell mario to stay upstairs and cut his headset off. let him just be the recruiter.
