I’m gonna say it, Homer is a better back...

Homer is better clearly.

And I hope Dallas, Cam, Burns, and Lo are better than Homer. If we wanna win it all, we need the next man up to be better than the guy before him.

Count me among the folks who likes Homer more in this offense. I think his decisiveness with his initial upfield cut is what makes him more effective with the way we use our backs.

I think Homer has a little bit better vision than Walton.... Now Walton has improved his vision a whole lot form his first two years... But Homer sees the lane and gets thru there

Why do you say that? Both upright runners with size. Both can break the first tackle and can accelerate. Great receivers out of the backfield please come with better research than that!

I thought he would be good but not THIS good.

Great to see him with the ball in his hands. I always feel something great can happen.

I think Walton is/was better when healthy though, but by the end of the season who knows.

I don't know which one was better but Homer is talented enough he should have been getting more reps and maybe we would have both guys currently. Instead we were giving carries to a banged up Walton.

% of people on this board that realize Homer is a better RB than Walton

Before the Season - 5%
After GT game - 30%
After October - 60%
After the Season - 90%

Like I said before the Season - this is The Year of Homer ™. Get on board, or get the f*ck out of the way!

Walton is a good RB and so is Homer but Homer will be the better RB. Walton has yet to have a good game against good competition...he tears up the lower P5 and D2 schools.,.
we have never played a D2 school.

He follows his blocks better than Walton, and he's a little more patient than Walton. Mark was a bigger back with more lateral quickness though. Both are great athletes but I agree that Homer fits Richt's run schemes better.

Walton had a tendency to dance too much behind the line of scrimmage. Against good teams it never worked. Homer sees a hole and makes a cut and goes, even if for just 4 yards.

Waltons pass protection was elite. But homer made great reads and burst straight up field when he made his cut. It's definitely refreshing that there is no drop off in talent on a few positions second string. Keep building depth!

They are different backs who bring different skillsets...How do we know that Walton wouldn't have chopped up GT like homer did?

truthfully, Richt should have been rotating them far more heavily than he has been, but from what I've seen from Richt, making sure the right players are on the field at the right time isn't necessarily his strongest quality

I've been excited about Homer since the beginning. If you go back and look at the thread started about the most underappreciated recruit from that class, I said Homer. I wanted him to get more carries last year. Heading into this season, I liked Walton but I didn't really agree with all of the hype. The first two games, however, the kid looked like a totally different RB to me. I guess what I'm saying is although I've always been high on Homer and think he's going to do extremely well here, I also think that Walton was going to have one of the better seasons in Canes history if not for the injury. He just had a bounce to him.
