They were beating guys now in the NFL. There's no rational way to explain it. Guys just weren't taking football seriously it seems like. That MTSU team had a good year, for them, but also got blown out by the likes of JMU, UTSA, UAB, WKU, and LaTech that year. It was as inexplicable as the loss to FIU a few years before. Yea we sucked, but not bad enough we should have lost to that team.

What was happening behind the scenes, etc...
Rivalries among the coaches. Lack of attention to details. Manny's players refusing to buy into Mario's program...
It'll also serve the purpose of showing how far we've come.

That and getting into the unique experiences from his playing days. Being recruited by Kiffin landed perfectly with that discussion and It got my attention but then the conversation quickly shifted away. That could have been a great 5 minute segment going into where he was coaching at the time, how his personality was in the living room vs on camera, what did he negative recruit with etc etc.

Honestly, I'd doubt even 50% listen every day. Old retired guys like me enjoy havi g something to watch daily. A typical show runs about the length of a good toro cigar, so I'm good. Personally I just never cared for Pete live that much. AR is much more pleasant to listen to. Now Petes written work I do like. Danny has his weaknesses too. Too many times I've seen a good guest start to elaborate on something of interest only to have Dan or Pete interrupt with some insignificant point and the conversation strays away from what we were about to hear. A good host has to let a guest talk.

Some segments in the history and traditions would be great too. Lots of younger fans, newer fans, and people who may not know everything, and it’s always fun for old old timers to reminisce.

I'm with you, Doc. As a not old retired (military) guy I enjoy having the daily pod to kill some time. I often just listen to it on Spotify while I'm out and about killing some time. Life is full of chapters and Pete's CIS chapter is over. People need to let it go.... He was clearly uninterested for months in the show and appeared depressed to me. Or desperate for attention leading to his wild takes. You could tell the bad days early in a show and it was HARD to listen/watch.

And the takes on AR are premature. Its been a week. I don't understand the criticism. Also, fans more interested in having a talking head opine on a17 yr old who might come to the U then an actual former player who can break down plays/process/behind the scenes...makes zero sense. I personally could do with less (no) wrestling. But I just turn it off for that portion.

Stick with it AR.

I so agree on the wrestling stuff. That's my cue to move on. I've enjoyed AR, and he's also one of my all ti.e favorites as a player. I particularly liked hearing him discuss how his career came to an end (professional curiosity). I think the only time Pete really seemed truly engaged was when he was talking basketball, which is my least favorite sport.
 
Pete just always tried to go against D to manufacturer buzz and excitement. It was all to obvious. He was honestly better on his own afternoon show. Plus the cam ward beef was weird man. Like cam stole his lady or something.

AR will be solid eventually. He and D haven’t been friends for 15 years so the chemistry isn’t there. He doesn’t want to go against the grain. It takes time.
 
Listen Man. At the end of the day. We’re all a Hurricane family.. Any one can bring their own input and energy. I’m not pitting Pete against D$. Remember it’s The Hurricanes vs Everyone not a Hurricane.. I listen to all of them. It only has the say: Miami Hurricanes.

I mean the last line your just throwing fire on the flames when it comes to Pete got the boot because Miami wanted a more positive spin. Such an unnecessary thing to add.
 
Pete never really left when Mike Ryan jumps on. Loves slobbing all over that guy cause they discussed the premier league once on the podcast.

This website has been around for almost 15 years with a podcast component since the first year and many incarnations of it along the way.

Pete has been in some incarnation of the podcast a handful of times and a cast of characters with DMoney throughout the rest.

Pete will be back at some point. Maybe a few years from now, but Danny and Pete just can't quit each other.
