I think former players are great to have on but 3x a week is a bit overkill imo. Pete is a polarizing character for sure and I felt he went off the deep-end towards the end of his run, but there was certainly a chemistry there and the good cop/bad cop interplay was a nice balance IMO.
 
Pete lacked energy most of the time. The only time he had energy was when he was trying to act tough or distracted by Real Madrid getting dog walked by Bayern.

I do think AR needs more time to grow into this space. Maybe he's nervous? I think he can be a little repetitive with the things he says. He just needs more reps at this or study other co-hosts on other shows. He doesn't need to be hype at 100mph, just a tad more upbeat, and stop saying "to be honest with you.."

I personally would have just staggered guests throughout the week (AR, Steve Kim, Mike Ryan, etc.) instead of naming a permanent co-host 3 days after the Pete news. I respect trying to manufacture buzz (it was successful in the moment) but I can't say that I've listened to the pod once that first Monday, and even then it was probably the first 10-15 minutes.

I think the staggered guests works better, I just don't find the new structure unlistenable.

When the Pete news came out, I posted on here that Sebastian Font should've been the replacement. It seemed like an easy transition as he does cover the team in person, and dabbles in recruiting. Covers baseball team as well. It just made too much sense I guess.

Throw him into the mix too. Would have been nice to get a smattering of different voices and perhaps one emerges as the most viable option moving forward. Didn't play out that way and it would be interesting to see what listening numbers have looked like the past couple of weeks.

Sounds like CIS shows are modeled after Netflix shows. Just keep pushing out content no matter if it's any good.

I'll watch postgame shows or any time there's a commit/major news but regular shows when it's slow....nah.
