Hypothetical Scenario

Although I haven't posted in awhile, the coaching job opening is definitely something that will peak someone's interest. After reading various reports on this site (Fasa, DMoney, others), first Fasa out of left field with a report that seemed ridiculous (declaring Butch is the Guy), but then DMoney who kind of gave me a reason to believe that Butch might be the guy. Then there is twitter and the media (Barry Jackson, Feldman,Porter). It seems as if there is a power struggle within the University hierarchy. Butch,Schiano, Mullen, and now Richt have all been listed as a favorite by one person or another.

My dream scenario would be as follows. Butch HC Richt OC and Schiano DC. What if this happened? We would be dominating the football world. What if Butch assembled the greatest staff of all time? Then he would hand the keys to Schiano or Richt.

It is nice to dream isn't it? LOL

Knowing our admin, I just hope they don't mess this up. No Schiano or Mullen. Give me Butch or Richt. If not then Blake needs to be fired ASAP.

At first I thought that. But it came to me. Butch is so hungry and motivated right now. I feel as though he would be putting is heart and soul into rebuilding the program and changing the culture. For Richt, there are reports he is considering retiring or taking time off. Maybe if he steps in as OC, he does not have to be as committed, he can focus on one job, and can also serve as the QB coach and develop Kayaa, and maybe bring in Eason with him for the future.

Even at Georgia it seemed like he lost his passion and fire. Right now I think Butch has more of that than anyone else, and that is what we need in our next head coach.

Butch was hired, Richt called they had to stall on the paperwork to look into Richt, Butch is ****ed and will not talk with Blake, so they move to Schiano and put Butch in the backseat....

Seems Richt is open to the idea of being a coordinator. I doubt the same could be said of Butch.

I agree...Richt and Schiano have been connected to multiple HC openings which would lead to believe a coordinator position being unlikely. Even though Richt mentioned possibly being an OC or QB coach, that was prior to him being considered for 5+ HC positions. If not offered the HC position, I can't imagine why Butch wouldn't be interested in coaching the D with Richt as HC.

That is a fantasy but a more reasonable yet highly unlikely would be Butch comes back on a 3 year deal with Schiano as DC and expectation would be a unspoken coach in waiting. I dont think Butch is the right hire but bringing him in with a strong staff he could recruit his as-s of next few years, which is his strength and bring Miami football back and then hand they keys off.

I could buy that story.

After all, Butch has always claimed that Miami did not bargain in good faith, forcing him to bolt to Cleveland. Now this, after being held as an insulting "last resort". Can't blame him for walking out, under that scenario.

Flake might have pulled this weasel stunt, without the BOT. That could explain the BOT's reported involvement.

Who the **** knows.

I take that to mean a HC that actually takes a hands on approach, rather than stands there in a sun hat while assistants run the show. Maybe even calling plays like Jimbo, Johnson at GT, Briles did up until 2 years ago, etc.
