Hypothetical Question regarding N’Kosi

I’m assuming Perry would be as good as Pickett who didn’t play until last week against Va Tech. Also that he’s been able to pick up the offense as the years gone on. We don’t need a lot from the QB. Just hit wide open receivers.

I hear you, sfcane2, but the posters are correct that it is too late to put Perry in as a starter. The redshirt has nothing to do with it since, if he is the real deal, he won't stay for a 5th year anyway. If Rosier had a couple games like Pitt in mid-season and the record was around .500, yes let Perry get the experience. At 10-1 and going into post-season play, it is too late.

Why are you assuming that? Perry was just bad when he had a chance to win the job in the fall.

Just dumb as ****, like so many posters

Did you see Perry in practice? I didn't, so I would appreciate knowing what you saw. Other posters who saw him said he has all of the required physical skills and threw some beautiful passes in summer practice. According to people who witnessed Perry, he has all the tools to be a top QB, but lacked experience and knowledge of the playbook. Unless someone who saw him in practice says otherwise, I bet he will be the starter next year.

Dont overlook this dude for next year.

Notice I say next year...because it would be dumb to burn either redshirt this late in the season unless Rosier and Evan both get injured.

Yep...lets mismanage Perry's career because being reactionary and panicking is the way to run a program.

I am sure we will have a CMR QB next year. Rosier has heart that I hope is contagious to that position. But yeah CMR knows the ceiling with his current QB

Sorry if I don't trust Pete and D$ about Perry being a sure deal. Do you guys remember how these two slobbered all over Kayaa's ****?

Who cares about next year? The thread is about throwing him into the NEXT GAME.

You keep Perry on the bench. No need to waste the redshirt season with 2 games left in the season.

As badly as I want a new QB right now, I wouldn't burn his shirt. We had a heck of a season, but throwing away a year of eligibility HOPING he makes a difference in one game is not a good idea. Actually, it's a horrible idea.

The only time I ever wanted to see a redshirt burned for one game was Frank Gore in the Fiesta Bowl. We all knew he was going pro ASAP, so it really didn't matter if we burned his shirt for one game. Perry's situation is far different.

you dont burn a redshirt like that. no way. no fb and this ol and you want a kid that skinny in their against clemson DL?

why are people so stuck on the "burning a red shirt". if the player is any good, he is gone in 3 years anyway you count them........... get a grip.

so he starts next year and the next.. and boom, he's gone. 3 years, no matter how you count them.............

Not usually the case with QBs. HBs, yes, but not QBs.

No, he's not ready. Nkosi needs to watch, train and show what he can do in the spring and summer. This is Rosier's job, but he will have competition in 2018.

If Malik struggles like he did yesterday against Clemson do you burn Perry’s RS? If not against Clemson would you do it in the playoffs if we make it. Same question if Malik is hurt. The stakes are so high that it seems like something to consider.

Sounds crazy but to a man everyone agrees that not burning Frank Gore’s Redshirt in 2002 for the Ohio State game was the biggest regret. He didn’t stick around for his 5th year so it was a wasted redshirt anyway. If N’kosi is any good he won’t be here either.

Considering we open with LSU at Jerrys World in 2018....i cant envision that being Perrys first game.

Nobody knows how the next 2-3 years are going to go, I do know that you don’t burn a kids redshirt with 2-3 games left in the season unless there an injury to the other 2 qbs.

Let the kid continue to learn the offense and add size and strength so that when he does get put in there he will be ready to roll.

I don’t believe there is anyway Perry isn’t given every chance to win the job next season but he’s going to have to prove it to everyone that he’s clearly the better Qb.

No we aren't Ohio State who can stick their freshman QB in for a huge win down on road.
We stick with our starter even if it means losing. Loyalty.

Guys does anybody actually know good Perry is, I'm in Texas and have never seen him play, but to me he LOOKS like Jacory. If not him do we have a badazz on the radar, this team, you know quarterback U, needs a quarterback...thanks
He has a much stronger arm then Jacory as well as being more athletic.

This season belongs to Rosier then Sherriffs in that order.

We go as far as they take us.
