Miami has secured its second top-10 linebacker in the 2027 class as Virginia native Noah Glover announced his commitment to the Canes this evening.



A 6-foot-1, 205-pound all-around linebacker who Miami’s defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman visited on multiple occasions this past Spring, Glover garnered interest from some of the top schools in the country with his traditional linebacker play.

In only nine games this past season, Glover made an impact all over the field for his Battlefield high school side — with 73 tackles, five sacks and two blocked punts.
He’s a versatile linebacker who can play across the field, a sentiment shared by the Miami staff.

“They see me as a WILL, SAM, MIKE, all that — I just think I fit in really well here in the scheme,” Glover said.

The four-star linebacker moves across the field well with real instincts at the position. Glover spots gaps well and attacks with thumping force in both the pass and run game.

He reads quarterbacks especially well, and uses his plus speed to track them down as they escape the pocket.

Glover committed to the Canes over the likes of Georgia, Notre Dame and Texas A&M, joining recent commit AJ Randle in Miami’s linebacker room for the 2027 class.

Like Randle, Glover mentioned how crucial defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman was in his decision.

“Coach Hetherman is a great ball guy,” Glover said. We talked ball for a bit, watched some film, just like just really understanding him, I really like him as a coach.”

With his commitment, UM moves up to 17 players this cycle as it moves ever closer to its “smaller” expected haul of 20-23 recruits.

It is good to see that we are collecting impact linebackers going forward so we don't have to rely on dudes in their mid 20s (no shade, just not that common).

Now get a top-end defensive end and another receiver and then you can lay me down to rest.

And a Safety.

Battlefield is always a strong program. This is the type of kid who typically ended up at Penn State or Virginia Tech under Bud Foster. Love the pick up from Prince William County.

It's awesome to see Miami going into the DMV area and getting a big time player. That area produces some great football players.

That's what I've been saying since Diaz was here. Doesn't matter how athletic a kid is. If he can't diagnose plays in a split second, he won't be a good LB.

 

Watching a LB recruit drop back in pass coverage and make a play on the ball just brought tears to my eyes!

Exactly. Mario ain’t going anywhere. His goal was to bring this football program back to the golden age, and he’s doing it. Getting to the national championship was just the beginning. Mali, Fletcher, Moten, Lucas, Toure, Poyser, Lyle, Moore, Brown, Pringle, and all the other upperclassmen who chose not to transfer for bigger NIL deals, they came back for a reason. Those guys are all locker room leaders who let the incoming freshmen and portal guys know they came back to finish the job and get a ring. They’re gonna keep everyone else locked in all season long and hold guys accountable when they don’t give 100% every practice and every play of every game. That’s what’s gonna separate us from the rest of the pack this upcoming season. The bigger the game, the better they’ll play.

He has all the traits and mind set of what you want at LB. Size was my only concern with him. When I saw he measured in at 210, I was all in. 210 is my personal cut off at LB. This program taking tiny LB's for 20 years has given me a totally allergic reaction to any LB not stepping on campus already at 210 or above. I don't know how many 190lbs S. FL LB's we have taken over the years, but it's way, way to many. Randle and Glover are a awesome LB combo.

I hear your concern, but this is Example #14268425946 that this is a new day at The U. First off, Hetherman's scheme calls for fluid, rangy LBs that can run. You don't normally find that in 240 lb high schoolers. Coach likes em in that 210-225 range with said traits, lets Coach Erv cook up and, Voila!!! A pack of 225-240 lb velociraptors that are weapons moving forward, laterally, and dropping back.

Second and lastly, most of those 190lbers you speak of were sold to us as 210lbers. We now take the novel approach of actually verifying measurables before seriously pursuing prospects. Genius, ain't it?!?! To make matters worse, the clown shows of the past would do their best to keep those guys tiny. Wes is THE Poster Child of the difference between past and current regimes.

Bruh admittedly came to Gables weighing 190. He left Mario's progrum 230+. If Sir Lispy Slippenslide were still here, he'd weigh 212 lbs and look like he works at Publix warehouse.

I promise you it's safe now. We really can let that hurt go...
