If you are anywhere near the projected cone, please leave. It has become a category 5 in two hours.

This is going to be bad. Hoping for minimal loss of life of course however some are just stubborn. You can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink. My heart goes out to those who are actually unable to evacuate, ones who activly choose to stay...

I think it comes ashore as a 2 or low 3 south of Rampa at this point- but all that water its pushing across at a flat trajectory has to go somewhere.

In Punta Gorda we got a 100 year record storm surge two weeks ago from Helene that was 160 miles off shore. I'd rather take another direct hit than the water on the dirty side. But someone has to get it.

Have to stay here in Orlando. Traffic is backed up. Need to give priority to those who are in true danger.
Tampa will be beyond flooded gone from the surge. You are in true danger from Tampa to Cape Canaveral do not underestimate. The east side threat is mostly due to tornadoes forming from the Hurricane force bands consistent 85+ mph

Sister lives in Port Charlotte
Left this am

Evacuated from St Petersburg to Perry last night. Normally a 3.5 hr drive, took me 6.5 so got in after midnight. Helene surge came within less than an inch from entering my house (I'm on the Bay), others near me weren't so fortunate. Good friends had over 2 feet of water inside and lost almost everything. This one could have 4-9 ft higher surge if it hits direct into the bay or just north, but if it hits further south around Sarasota or more south impact could be very minimal due to the small eye size and angle of approach.

Don’t know how you guys persist, being in the paths of hurricanes and all, but be safe and use good judgement. Get out of there immediately please

Was in Punta Gorda and rode out the eye of Ian.

Moved to Lakewood Ranch in January and now I got this eye coming for me.

These things follow me I swear, but at least I'm not subject to storm surge now.
Yeah Cantore is there - that's the kiss of death. He has some mystical ability to be where the eye is. Twice he showed up in Punta Gorda.

The last two they called for Tampa, Punta Gorda took the eye: Charley and Ian. I did the shirt:

I’m zone B in Hillsborough at the mouth of the bay.

I was going to stay but it just too close to call.
Left this morning for Hilton head. Typically a 5hr drive took 11hrs!!!!!!!!!!!

It was brutal. Stopped twice to top off on gas and let the dog and everyone take a ****.

Hotels allowing dogs were basically non existent throughout the state.

Plan to leave around 4am Friday to head home if power is on and path is clear.

Now we wait and hope we have a home to come back to.

Zone D for me in Clearwater. I'm locked and loaded. We should get 90-100 MPH sustained here. Looks like it will be south of us. Prayers up for those folks who will get 120+. However, the TB area will get a ton of rain, much more than the south side of the storm.
