We'll ignore the 5-star O-line, the abundant talent at the WR and RB positions as well. And for all of that, Hurts isn't exactly a polished QB. And please don't use his W/L record. Because Bama also has an elite defense as well.

Kosi hasn’t had enough time playing in actual games to say he doesn’t look comfortable in the pocket..
 
OP got negged a lot but made some good points.
1-Rosier should’ve been urged to graduate. QB race should’ve been NKosie v Cade since Spring. Big **** up when we let Jack Allison leave and let Rosier stay.
2-DeeJay should get starting reps but I like half and half. I’d run DeeJay earlier, wear down defense, then bury them w Homerun Homer and Lingard.
3-Yes. McCloud should be our number two MLB. I’d keep Finley and D Smith at Striker. Mike Smith shouldn’t be on field much.
4-I think Carter and Hall should be our number two safeties and play more. But agree Dean shouldn’t get reps over Blades or Ivey.

We don't have the depth to play for a National Championship! Are talent level also needs to increase! I could name several teams that talent level is better the ours.

You realize we played man all game and blitz and their receivers started eating in the 2nd half. Mike Jackson all of a sudden lost all his ball skills.

That’s the same thing I said bc the writing was on the wall that the staff was moving away from a true strong side linebacker role.

McCloud should’ve been crossed train to play both MLB and WLB imo so he can still get reps when the striker position is on the field. Much better than having Mike Smith and Jennings on the field at the same time.

He won a national championship because he had Cam Newton at QB. Cam made everyone better around him. Including the defense. You need to wait a few more years before you start passing judgment. We are moving in the right direction. We should truly be at national elite playoff level by 2020 or 2021. If we are not in the mix at that point, then your statement may be valid.

You misunderstood my statement, I was defending Richt. Dude said coaches like Richt cannot win championships, I pointed out that's false because worse coaches like Chizick/Coker have a ship.

I agree that having another QB on the roster would be beneficial but there's no evidence that says Allison would have been any better than Rosier has been. His high school numbers were very Sitkowski-esque. Big guy, big arm, no accuracy.

Everything else makes sense to me. Anything to keep 35 and 20 off the field. I'm really disappointed in Mike Smith. He looked like a solid reserve linebacker two years ago but like the rest of our linebackers, has only seemed to regress.

Chizik was smarter and better than Richt for 2 reasons:

1. Unlike Richt, Chizik didn't recruit Cam Newton to play Tight End.

2. Chizik won a NC with Cam Newton (#1 NFL Draft Pick). Richt didn't win ANYTHING with Matt Stafford (#1 NFL Draft Pick).

LET THAT SINK IN.....

1) When Richt recruited Newton, no one knew at the time that he was going to be the QB that he was. Newton recruited (paid) Cam to Auburn once he was established as an elite DT.

2) Didn't realize that all #1 draft picks were the same. Cam and Stafford are completely different QBs. Cam's game translated far better in college than Stafford's game.

Now you are making excuses. Cam Newton was one of the most highly recruited quarterbacks coming out of high school. Why do you think Urban Meyer wanted him so bad. ****, everyone that played for the Gators at the time said that Cam Newton was light years better than Tim Tebow. Cam foolishness cost him at Florida. So let's not act like Can was not viewed as an elite quarterback. Richt simply screwed up.

Richt had Matthew Stafford, Knoshawn Moreno, AJ Green and others on the same team and he still could not win anything. Gene chizik simply had Cam. And won a national championship.

Who are these other coaches and what are their current salaries and the salaries of their assistants? Also, is it your opinion that last year the National Championship could have easily been won with Rosier or Sherriffs? OR are you saying that N'Kosi Perry was a National Championship winning QB who has been wearing a redshirt and threw a pick to Savannah State?
