Lashlee > Malzahn every day of the week, Auburn’s pass game under him is awful. His route concepts makes Richts look like Mike Martz.

Lashlee spending time in the air raid will make the pass game and route concepts far more difficult to stop than gus’s. I also like Lashlees time with Pat Sullivan.

Gus needs to make some adjustments.
When did Lashlee spend time with Sullivan? At Samford?

IdahoCane who used to post on Grassy is a former UM player whose son played QB and WR for Sullivan at UAB. I don't remember an air raid philosophy but that was 20 years ago.

Yes , Samford.

One of the best things that could have happened to Lashlee was stepping away from Gus Malzahn. After going from high school quarterback to assistant coach to offensive coordinator, he pretty much knew Gus’ offense inside and out. Gus is an innovator and a great offensive mind but if you watch Auburn, their passing game can leave a lot to be desired. It’s almost over simplified. They are entirely dependent on having an athletic quarterback and have been very hit and miss when they try to use a pocket passer type. They can get very one dimensional.

Getting some experience working with Air Raid guys really opened Lashlee’s playbook. Far more route combinations and a larger route tree give a quarterback a ton of more options in the passing game. Plus, it doesn’t mean you’re tied to a single type of quarterback. You can tailor the offense to feature more or less designed QB runs. A dual threat guy like D’Eriq King is great but Rhett has shown that he can put points on the board with a less athletic dude like Shane Buchelle. Which is why a guy like Tyler Van Dyke, who’s a solid but not incredible athlete, can have a ton of success
