Miami Hurricanes right-handed pitcher Griffin Hugus was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the third round with the 91st overall pick of the 2025 MLB Draft.

Hugus made an immediate impact in his debut season with the Hurricanes, leading the pitching staff with 17 starts — the most of any pitcher on the roster.

Basically means he’s signing. Hopefully there’s another arm behind him.
 
He will probably sign for a bit less since he was taken higher than most expected. They can then overspend today.

I really like him going there though. Its tough to make it to the show but this is a team system that has proven to take really solid college arms and turn them into something even grander.
