Hugh Freeze to Auburn

This hire is contentious...

Having lived in Georgia for 10 years, I have a lot of friends who are diehard Auburn fans.

I'm surprised by how absolutely disgusted by this hire some of them are. I'm not sure how much of the fanbase they represent and it's probably less than half, but the absolute disgust is what's surprising to me.. not a "I don't like it, but I'll wait and see" type disagreement. But more "this is deplorable and I can't believe the school would sink this low" type anger.

We'll see how it plays out but Hugh Freeze might be as polarizing for Auburn as Donald Trump has been for America.

C'mon now.

Wall Street J had a huge article last week about Auburn U and how they’ve raised their tuition (putting costs on students) and other expenses while undergoing a massive building program along with improvement in all athletic facilities. The spending is eye opening for a state school who’s now looking more “elite” due to cost factors.
