huge game for Kaaya's Legacy

Kaaya has slayed FSU for the past two years when their secondary was actually the strength of their defense. I expect him to do much of the same this year, especially considering that their secondary is now considered the weak part of their D.

The difference, is this year we have the staff to make sure that we don't give the game away like we did the previous two years.

He couldn't put it together on the last drive last year when the pressure was on him. He had plenty of time to perform.

Kaaya has been pretty good but he has not taken over a game like he should if he wants to be considered with other Miami greats.

Kaaya threw for 721yds 5 touchdowns and 1 interception against FSU the last two years. You're right, Kaaya played "pretty good"

Its 2016. Everyone puts up huge passing stats in college football.

He left the field 0 and 2 after both of those games and he had lots of offensive talent around him.

He had a chance to pull it last year off on the last drive. When the pressure was on, he choked.

Both years he had a chance to pull it out.

Ingredients don't bake cakes. Bakers bake cakes. Talent without the right coaches are as worthless as ingredients without a cook. We, meaning our fan base, should identify with this considering the past couple of years. Am I saying that Kaaya does not deserve some of the blame? Absolutely not, he deserves his share because he is the QB. However, to insinuate that Kaaya is the reason why we have not beaten FSU the past two years is absurd.

Im with the OP on this one.

Kaaya had FSU beat at home in 2014 but could not get the critical first downs needed in the fourth quarter. It was clear that Kaaya could have picked up 2-3 very critical first downs with his feet but was too scared to run. He looked very slight as a true freshman so I sloughed it off to him being a freshman.

Well this year he's a true junior. Time for him to learn to extend plays with his feet in critical situations. We'll find out soon enough.

The kid runs a 5.4 forty !! How do you "learn" to run faster?

As weird as this season has played out, all the pressure is on UM and Kaaya. FSU has nothing to lose at this point. They won't play in the ACCCG. They won't play for a NC. They'll come in loose.

I'd expect Kaaya to be pretty tight because of all the local pressure of him having to win a big game and UM having to snap this streak.
Chise,if Walton and Yearby dominate is that really a win for Brad?

Yes-just like it was a win for Peyton in the SB when he hardly did a thing.

Sounds like me and my ex

First let me say I am NOT a troll but a season ticket holder since 1984. If you don't like my comments too bad. I am Die hard Canes fan like may of you but NOT a believer in Kaaya. He has NEVER once delivered I a victory in a BIG GAME. His stats are meaningless unless he can carry the team on his back and beat FSU. I am rooting kid but until he wins big then he's nothing special at all!

He does not need to run faster. He needs to understand that sometimes he needs to run and get what he can out of a play. Sometimes thats just rolling out when the pocket gives way to extend the play a little bit. And sometimes it does mean actually running and picking up 2-4 yards on a given play. There are critical situations where Kaaya doesnt seem to be any different than he is during any other situation. ITs partly why so many here do not think he is an elite QB. He seems to be missing that inner mindset that hates losing more than loving winning.

Unfortunately for Kaaya ,we have not had the dominant D of our championship years and so more is being asked of him to carry this team.

Kaaya will not be running for any first downs Sat night but we have the playmakers to make the big plays that win these type of games and Kaaya has to get the ball to them .

Coley, Njoku, Richards,Herndon all can take it to the house and we will win if Kaaya gets them the ball over and over again.

I have no doubt this is our best O since Kaaya is here and it may take 30+ points to beat FSU. Though our D has played great, I dont expect them to shut FSU down.

Kaaya has the Defense (unlike previous years) to win this game. In addition, is facing the weakenst FSU Defense under the Jumbo era. FSU is doubting themselves. Miami smells blood. No excuses, just ******* win!

I really dont think it is a mindset issue with Kaaya . It is a real, tangible ,physical liability...he cant run much faster than he can walk.

Now ,since he never runs ,he has no 'practice" or experience running and so he hardly even considers it ,even with an open field in front of him. So in that sense ,you may have a point.

I would rather not see him run and possibly get hurt as I dont trust any one of our bench QBs.

The only film that FSU should be studying is when GT pulled within a TD and CMR lwt go of the leach and let the dogs out. Which I expect will be the scenario for the remainder of the season. I forsee this shift will also open up the running game considerably. Or I could just be wearing rose colored glasses, I hope not.

Eh, I think his surrounding talent in 2014 was substantially better. Now that he's actually ready to play I think the overall offense is better this year.

Canes opened at -1, line now -3.5. Interesting. I'm too beaten down to figure this one out, but loving where we are.

Correction. Kaaya can't run

Reading comprehension fail.

Its football. N0o one player determins who wins a game.

That being said, it was all Kaaya that last drive. You know that you will get pressured, you have the talent around you, you have to come through.

He let 3 of his passes get tipped including one on flair. But more importantly he missed a crucial throw on 2nd and 10 to an open receiver that put us behind the 8 ball.

4th and 3, you gotta hit that play. You know they are coming for you.

I just hope he can find a way to will the Canes to victory. It's all about will..
