HS coaching talent moving to ATL

When we (Deerfield) went up there to play them (Buford), they let us use their basketball arena to change, get taped, etc.
That's a **** high school basketball arena.
Then they let us use one of their FOUR turf practice fields to go through plays, warm-up, etc.
And the hospitality was insane. They literally had two staff members following us around to make sure that we got everything we needed. (before busting their *** in front of 20k fans)
Even after the game, they had fans walking by our buses, congratulating us and wishing us a safe return home.

the outskirts of atl are different.
They upscale as **** and big bread. MILTON PPL GOT M ORE MONEY THAN BUDFORD

I was at a clinic in Atlanta last year and that's what some Georgia guys told me. They said Atlanta metro ain't the area you want to be at. Just head to the outskirts for the money.
That was the year we beat Milton and dudes up there were ready to hire me on the spot!

Yes, this is true. I live up here in Forsyth County. Could throw a rock to Milton from my house. Buford is 20 minutes away. When my son started playing football, I thought it would be a few hundred bucks. Although I took my kid out of Forsyth’s system, so I’m not one to talk.

the APS schools used to produce talent at WASHINGTON, DOUGLAS, MAYS....and out there in Decatur SW DEKALB, TUCKER, STEPHENSON....im not sure if its still like it though.
Westlake appears to remain the same (where cam newton. pac man jones played)

Young Thug the rapper was a qb at Washington.
Quavo from Migos also was starting qb at Berkmar in Gwinett.

Inside of 285? Buckhead-Vinings is nice.
Other than that, the big money is outside the Beltway.

south florida may be better honestly than APS. Atleast most of broward

It absolutely is. There are some decent pockets of public schools in Broward. Everyone I know who lives in the APS districts sends their kids to charter or private.

The people I know inside of the FCC (Florida Coach's Coalition) are extremely optimistic that the bill will pass for 2026. The numbers just have to be hammered out. Minimum wage for a high school assistant would equate to a little over 11k per season. Head coaches would get around 25k.
