One of the most important qualities in a head coach is hiring staff, especially coordinators. Here's our staff since MC has been here:

2022
OC: Josh Gattis (was the previous year's Broyles award winner somehow)
DC: Kevin Steele
QB: Frank Ponce
OL: Alex Mirabal
RB: Kevin Smith
WR: Gattis
TE: Stephen Feld
DL: Joe Salvae
DE: Rod Wright
LB: Charlie Strong (co-DC)
DB: Jahmile Addae

2023
OC: Shannon Dowson
DC: Lance Guidry
QB: Dawson
OL: Alex Mirabal
RB: Tim Harris
WR: Kevin Beard
TE: Cody Woodiel
DL: Joe Salvae
DE: Jason Taylor
LB: Derek Nicholson
DB: Jahmile Addae

2024
OC: Shannon Dowson
DC: Lance Guidry
QB: Dawson
OL: Alex Mirabal
RB: Matt Merritt
WR: Kevin Beard
TE: Cody Woodiel
DL: Joe Salvae
DE: Jason Taylor
LB: Derek Nicholson (co-DC)
DB: Chevis Jackson

2025
OC: Shannon Dowson
DC: Corey Heatherman
QB: Dawson
OL: Alex Mirabal
RB: Matt Merritt
WR: Kevin Beard
TE: Cody Woodiel
DT: Damione Lewis
DE: Jason Taylor
LB: Corey Heatherman
DB: Zac Etheridge
Safeties: Will Harris

MC has to be commended for fixing problems quickly. Gattis was clearly a disaster of a hire, but was quickly replaced by Dawson has been solid imo. Kevin Steele was also horrendous and was replaced by Guidry, who in 2023 seemed to be like a solid hire, but we all know how 2024 went and was replaced by probably his best hire in Heatherman.

I bring this up because when Miami is good, we're going to get poached often so we have to be able to replace. Do you think MC can do it consistently ?

I can’t simply forgive the unmitigated disaster that was 2022

But at least it looks like we are going the right direction

I don’t see any weak links at the moment
