Jedi, if I'm understanding correctly, you want Golden to be under as much pressure as possible and really feeling the heat. I do kind of agree with that. The last thing I want is for him to get complacent, and knowing your job is on the line can serve as a great motivator. That has been evident this year after the GT loss. In that regard, him being uncomfortable might be the best thing. However, I think momentum going into next season is far more important, and as I mentioned before, it puts even MORE pressure on Golden to meet raised expectations.
What I am saying is what I've been saying for over a year now...he's not the right guy for job and will not get any better. He is what he is...a conservative simple minded coach who belongs at a small school. He's a great guy....I've met him and he seems like a great human being...but he's a God awful coach.
Every day he stays he further sets the program back. Since we're unfortunately dealing with one of the worst administrations in the country it's going to take something major for them to fire him.
So what I'm saying is...6 or 7 losses would give them something MAJOR to think about this offseason. It's the only thing left to hope for.
Who the **** cares if we beat these last 2 average teams and then win in whatever "toilet" bowl we play in. We'd walk into next season ranked and then proceed to lose 3 or 4 games we have no business losing cause...well....that's what Golden does.
He's something like 2-15 or 2-14 against teams that have finished with 8 or more wins. That's the most damning, telling stat I've seen against a coach.
Anyone attempting to defend him at this point...go root for another program cause you obviously don't care about this one.
