How we finish the season is important

Another point that is being missed here is that there would be a better than good chance some of our recruits would leave if AG gets fired. If AG getting fired meant that Jaquan Johnson went to UF/FSU would you still want that? If AG staying meant Flowers and Duke came back would you want that? There is more to the equation than just AG needs to go. I do not have the answers to any of those questions, but I can all but guarantee you there is no way in **** Duke or Flowers stay if AG is gone.... Not sure what the chance is if he stays either...lol

I agree, that what the PROGRAM needs is to finish strong and get another good class in here. Then the roster will be stocked, and if AG does not capitalize next yr he goes. And whoever comes in should do very well with whats here.

And to the race card being thrown around, how did you feel about the roster Rs left and how would you feel about the roster AG would leave? Or how about the recruits on board when fired if Ag was gone today? What did RS have that yr, like 5 guys committed or something? Heck AG has a better class than that going for 2016! The team management is as good as we have seen in the last three regimes. Hard to compare to Butch because there was no twitter, youtube highlights, recruiting sites, etc.

Regardless, my opinion all along has been how does the team FINISH? Especially off a loss. Can he keep this team and get them to come out and take it out on UVA like we should. If this team plays the last few like they did in the RAB last yr then he should go for sure. He lost that team, they quit on him. If you do that two years in a row then you deserve to be fired. If he can get them to show up, and continue to play for him it will go a long way for me.

Alfred James Golden is the only man on earth that can convince a 17 year old to play football at the University of Miami. Give that guy a lifetime contract, I wouldn't want to risk losing a recruit.

Some of you guys don't get it.

What would beating mediocre Virginia and Pitt squads accomplish other than giving Golden additional goodwill he doesn't deserve with the admins and buying himself more time.

Against the better teams on the schedule...the games that really matter...he continues to lose.

I know the resident idiot Don Bailey Jr clones on this site will cheer and applaud if we beat those two dead beat teams.....but for the love of God think about what you're rooting for and attempt to show some semblance of foresight.

We need to lose these last two games. Someway...somehow.

Is that your game plan? Then what? What is your end game? Who is your next head coach? Great foresight!!!
I'm not condoning Golden's record but I haven't seen one legitimate alternative offered. It's like listening to the Republicans bashing Obama and not offering any alternatives or direction themselves.
GO CANES!!!!! just win

Just because someone doesn't have the right answer that does not preclude them from knowing what the wrong answer is.

The reality is you don't know anything about the inching class which is why you choose the wording you did. It's not like your breaking this kids down with your own opinions. Not mike bakas, Fermin etc but your own.

Correct. I never claimed to be a recruiting expert.

I mostly go by YouTube clips and website rankings (and the opinion of people who know recruiting a lot better than I do).

I stopped reading this thread at this post..

Bro, dont apologize to these clowns. 90% of the clowns on this board (Supacane im calling your fake a$$ out) dont know **** about recruiting, never been to a HS game, never seen half these kids play IN PERSON, just started following recruiting in 2006 during the MNW class era, and come on this board acting like they know what they talking about.

This is a more than solid class at its core. The same people who are down on a guy like Ryan Fines are the same people who $hitted on Courtel Jenkins. (Shout out to my dawg Paranos) The same people who laugh at Therell Gosier are the same people who have never seen this specimen in person.

Not going to make this a recruiting thread but at the end of the day, if you dont know what you are talking about, stop bashing the class. Just stick to what you know..Youtube highlights, Hudl hightlights, and your Scout/Rivals subscription.

With all due respect...I couldn't possibly disagree more.

Every day he stays it further sets the program back. Sorry...but I can't get onboard with this train of thought.

Given the set of current circumstances a "strong" finish is the worst possible thing that could happen to this program in both the short and long term.

What your shortsighted and simple-minded viewpoint fails to take into consideration is that a collapse down the stretch equals lost momentum, which equals losing recruits, which EVEN if it means golden getting fired, it means the next guy is left with a weak, depleted roster, and the vicious cycle starts all over again.

Why don't you try not acting like a 12 yr old boy and contributing something of substance to this site. The "root for looses or you're not a fan" shtick is getting real stale.

The shortsighted and simple minded view is "let's win"..." you always root for the Canes to win"

Winning, under these circumstances, is a loss. If I have to explain it further to help you reconcile this concept it's not worth the time.

I'll repeat...winning these last 2 games is the worst thing that can happen to this program. It would not only guarantee this moron another year but might even buy him more goodwill since we'll spend all offseason hearing about "a strong finish".

Never mind the fact those last 2 teams are average...at best. It would be example A of Fools gold.

Read my last post about what happens if we lose recruits and the vicious cycle that ensues. If you can give me a rational, level-headed response based on factual info, I will listen.

Simply saying "Folden must go and anyone who roots otherwise should kill them self" makes you look like a total douche.

If you can contribute substance, then let's have it. Explain how a true frosh qb going on the road SHOULD beat 2 top 25 teams. Explain how hanging tough with the champs, who said we were the best team theve played during their 26 game winstreak, isn't showing progress.

You guys get so caught up in the moment that you lose sight of the big picture. Again, I'm not supporting this staff. But if they adjust and turn things around, I am 1000% for them.

If you looked at me at 18 years old and looked at me now, to say a 180 is a laughish understatement. Point being, people change. Does that mean golden will? Not one bit. But what's the reason for rooting against it instead of for it, when we all know he is here next year?

An old friend and I love the phrase "what have Ya done for me lately?" Usually we use it when someone sucks. But in This case, golden lately has been adequate. I get the hatred after the GT loss, but come on- people change, people adjust. Maybe, just maybe, our true frosh qb is In a better spot now then against LV and NB on the road. Christ, you're really short sided to think otherwise.

Winning out is the best possible situation. Ride with me or don't - I don't care one lick. But I'm right.

The best thing for this program is to keep the momentum going. Us ******** (me included) that spend half their day reading the garbage on this site know way too much. The general public thinks like herbstreet, etc. All the Herbies LOVED what they saw sat night.

Yes. There will be a time where if golden doesn't produce he has to go. But if you seriously think that time is now, then you just aren't rational. When guys like you fly banners while guys like herbstreet say we are on the up, it makes me think you should be perma-banned. You're a cancer.

Neg me. All of you. It'll honestly make me feel better for hitting a nerve. Cause you all suck.

*** backwards mentality at it's finest. Congrats.

Still waiting for some substance from you.

We gave the keys to a true frosh QB starting on the road against Louieville, and 3 weeks later at Nebraska. No rational fan would expect a win. Nor did Vegas, who had us as underdogs in both games.

GT I will concede was a huge disappointment. The coaches didn't adjust and it cost us a game we shouldve won. No argument from me there. Same with FSU, as I'm not a moral victory guy.

But the way we played the past 5 weeks, and the way we LOOKED (we pass the eyeball test now for the first time in a long time, minus the DL), gives me hope.

I noticed you didn't post much during the beatdowns we put on GT and UNC. One loss and youre right back at it. I'm all for good discussion, but give me some substance. Yes, I know we have 4 losses. Yes, I know it is year 4. Substance, please.

Exactly. We were underdogs. We should have lost those games. These idiots and their expectations in year 4. We're beating all the teams that we're expected to beat, and the games that we're dogs in Im just happy with a good effort. Pass the eyeball test, and weather the storm. Right?

Cant wait till we demolish Southern Miss in the Beef O Brady, gunna be teh funnest game in years.

**** a recruiting class if our coaching is ****. I cant believe some of you are worried about losing some recruits if we fired our coach. The same coach that gets a 6-4 result with our current roster of talented players. It doesn't matter how much talent we get, we wont have enough to get past the blockade of inept coaching.

And don't reference Coker and the 2001 team. The system and players were already installed when Butch left. Coker (much like Erickson) just didn't have to crash the car. Golden has stripped the system and changed the way we operate. And it is complete ****.

Whatever, Al.

If you can't see the flaws in Golden's personality that blames players for his mistakes, then you're blind as a bat.

If you can't see the constant failures to misuse the talent on the team, you're blind.

If you can't see Golden's Choke Factor, you haven't been watching.

If you can't see Golden's tendencies - documented and discussed here at length, then go back to whatever you're doing, as you have to be as dense as a post.

If you can't see his recruiting gaps, you're not paying attention.

If you can't see that we're currently 6-4 in Golden's fourth year - then Stevie Wonder has better vision than you.

Unless.

You don't WANT to see.

2. This is a common misconception of the simpletons. Every coach says the same stuff as Golden. Every single one. "It all starts and ends with me. We didn't execute." What exactly is he supposed to say? He can't say anything right with guys like you, yet he is one of the most well-spoken coaches in the NCAA.
3. I'm not sure he is "misusing talent." I don't love the patterns certain WRs are set up to run bc they may not maximize what we, as fans, perceive to be the skillset of that particular WR, but other than that I think the best talent IS, in fact, on the field. Antonio Crawford playing over a higher regarded Tracy Howard. Yearby over Gus. I have to disagree on that one.
4. He definitely choked a few times.
5. I see the tendencies. I am still having an internal debate as to whether a coach can change his stripes. I lean towards the yes side, which is why I haven't given up yet. Time may prove that I am wrong, but that is where I stand now.
6. Win and the recruits will come. We are winning now. Watch them come.
7. I can see clearly that we are 6-4.

At the end of the day, a lot of guys waste a lot of time posting about coaching candidates and **** like that. Unless AG decides to leave, which I am fairly certain he will not because we can win next year, he isn't going anywhere for at least another year. I just cant comprehend why fans can't root for the best and let the chips fall where they may.

The best is for Miami to lose 100-0 in our next two games and for Golden to get fired.

Agree with you. Unfortunately a majority of our fans are internet trolls with no ******* common sense.

And who's fault is it that we were starting a Freshman QB? Who's job was it to recruit QB's so we had some depth at the position and weren't forced to throw Kaaya to the wolves?

Whoa whoa whoa. Remember. The forecast for the first few years was Cloudy with a Chance of Excuses. We couldn't get a good QB because of it.

The cloud has become the trash chute on the Death Star. People just throw whatever in it: recruiting failures, depth issues, losses to inferior teams, princesses and theirr incestuous brothers. They don't even know their is a monster within the garbage that is feeding off it all....

The next thing you say that contains any substance will be the first.

Typing 400 words doesn't change the fact that you're basically spewing the Don Bailey Jr. corporate line. Everything about your line of reasoning is *** backwards and I refuse to waste the time attacking it point by point cause I'd be here all day.

Let's go Virginia. Let's go Pitt. It's whats best for the program. My recommendation is you go root for another program....perhaps one that accepts mediocrity and makes excuses on top of excuses for failed regimes.

Congrats.

I don't understand how a 3-0 finish that includes a bowl victory, a top 25 season's end ranking, and a possible top 15 ranking going into next season carrying positive momentum can possibly be viewed as a bad thing. The program is in desperate need of a strong finish to the season. If anything it will raise the expectations for next year and put more pressure on Golden to meet those standards. Raising the bar lowers the margin of error. An 8-5 season after a 6-7 season looks decent. An 8-5 season following a 9-4 season, not so much.

Because said "3-0" finish would come against GARBAGE.

Pitt and Virginia represent average teams, and from a ****** conference. A ****** conference, mind you, that we can't even win outright.

Golden deserves no accolades, praise, or goodwill this summer...we lost several games this year that you would expect the coach at the University of Miami (In his FOURTH ******* YEAR) to WIN.

If he doesn't get fired...at the very least I want him to have the most uncomfortable offseason ever....and by my estimation a 1-2 finish would leave us with 6 losses for the year and would accomplish one of those two (hopefully the former).

Jedi, if I'm understanding correctly, you want Golden to be under as much pressure as possible and really feeling the heat. I do kind of agree with that. The last thing I want is for him to get complacent, and knowing your job is on the line can serve as a great motivator. That has been evident this year after the GT loss. In that regard, him being uncomfortable might be the best thing. However, I think momentum going into next season is far more important, and as I mentioned before, it puts even MORE pressure on Golden to meet raised expectations.
