Counting Ford, the long snapper and any kicker/punter on scholarship, what is our current number of scholarships now that Mayes is gone?

73 without Ford, Jordan Butler, or any kicker not named Badgley or Feaglea.

Okay, so 74 or 75 prior to summer camp. I think we'll see a couple more guys take off prior to game 1, so we're probably talking 72-73 for the season. Those are not the best numbers but other than Odogwu and Jenkins, maybe Ced Wright, we wouldn't have gotten any help from the other kids anyway. Hope staff is still looking for GTs and oversigns for 2018. 2-3 more years to be a dynasty again.

good thing now is we probably have 74/75 top level talented players now, unlike in the past 8 years where we only had around 50. Probably why Richt is moving some of the lesser talented ones on.

If you take out Testaverde (he's a walk on) and Mayes, we have 76 according to the matrix above.

At least half this list will probably be gone before the start of the season imo.

Jahair Jones
Bar Milo
Hayden Mahoney
Terry Mccray
Robert Knowles *Think he'll last 1 more year*
Ryan Fines * coaches might have to keep him for #'s)
Gerald Willis * Who knows *
Darrel Langham (depends on if he can contribute at TE)

Not that it matters. But if Willis is on leave, I think his scholarship is available for use. I don't count him, and consider him less than 50/50 for next season.

Tough with UM not disclosing, but I have it at 75. Does include Gerald Willis, so it might be 74 if he doesn't count.

Doesn't count testaverde or butler.

10 seniors on the roster. So we need 5 more to leave (4 if Willis doesn't come back) to be able to take a full 25 class in 2018. Can easily be done. Still 6-8 kids who don't belong here.

And there's a good chance that with a good season a few guys leave early... Walton, Norton, McIntosh..

It better fcking not be 70, that's crazy bad management. Yeah, some of these guys weren't Miami caliber, but at some point you need bodies and playing 15 short is ridiculous. In order to maintain my sanity, I'm going to assume the number is closer to 75 and I'm not thrilled with that. At this point I'm backing whatever Richt wants to do, but I don't see the point in asking dudes to move on if we're that fare below the limit.

My apologies it's 74, I forgot to count the 4 special teams schollies.

This is just what I'm assuming the number is after looking over the roster.

Its basically completely dependent on when the Scholarships are counted. Because if they are counted from like a couple months ago, once they are counted, they are set. And just recently guys like Henley, Willis, and Mayes left the team. This also makes sense as to why guys that are walk ons are being given scholarships, because they are going to be counted anyways, and might as well let someone use it. This really isn't a big deal as all it really affects is the maximum that we can backcount for 2018EEs. But we're not likely to go far over 25 anyways, so its really nbd.

By my count we have 74 players currently on the roster (before considering any walkons they gave scholarships to).
Seniors - 10
Juniors - 19
Sophomores - 20
Freshman - 25 (assuming Ford got in)

I think 74 is the correct number. Putting two and two together, we are going to sign large classes in both 2018 and 2019 (we will have 20 seniors plus attrition).

I dont want to get into names, but there are probably another 3-4 kids on top of your list that will not graduate from UM. Lots of room for talent.
