man, 5-7 would be a lot. I hope we can keep it around 2-3. I don't think we get Washington in February.

Jokes aside, the UM fanbase is the worst Ive ever seen it in nearly 20 years of moderating various Canes websites. Not angry like they were with Golden. This time there is a real sense of defeat. A real sense that the marxists have truly taken away the UM football program. Sadly, Im not sure the fanbase is wrong.

Yhe key to the portal that somebody on the other side wants you. We've already had a player or two not attract a ton of interest.

I definitely get your point. Ive been a fan and season ticket holder for over 30 years. After the last 15 years of repeated bad coaching hires by an administration that has ruined our football dynasty, my anger for the first 12-13 years of losing has turned to defeat for the last 2 years.

I think partly because Coach Richt gave us false hope with the 10 win season, only to fall apart and retire the following season. Now, Manny brings fanfare and expectation (of his own creation) and he has done a worse job than any coach in my lifetime. It is saying a lot when you are worse than Shannon and Golden. I think part of the defeat is having no faith in Blake James possibly making another coaching hire after next season, and an administration that cares so little about football that they might possibly allow Blake James to make another coaching hire, rather than showing him the door along with Manny, if they cannot finally turn it around next season. By turn it around I mean at least 9 wins next season.

Good point! I was wondering what interest Baxa could possibly get given how bad he was this season. Also would Martell get any interest from another school knowing that his head may not be in football?

So, player Z enters the portal. No interest or terrible offers like Kentucky. Player Z wants to stay with prior school. Is his prior school required to say, “welcome back?” Thinking no. Sounds risky.
