Curious how many scholarships are left after the early signing period ? We could possibly sign the AH4, Ezzard, Miller, Coburn, Chatman, and Ojomo also visited this week. Also Bethel and the Illinois grad transfer DL. I may be missing someone else too. How many can we sign or is there room for all of them? SIAP.

If all of them want in they all get in

It does feel like if we get everyone, which we won't I guess, but if we do, that there is not enough room.

We have 22 now. I think the high end I heard for this class this season was anywhere from 25 up to 27.

No way we land all those DTs. Probably only one more. Add Ezzard that's 24.

Then if PS2, Campbell, Chatfield want in they all have a spot. That's 27 and a top 3 class.

The key to numbers for this class are the two grad transfers: Odenigbo and Boulware. When Richt said 27, did this include the two grad transfers? Because if it does, we're screwed numbers wise. It the two grad transfers are IN ADDITION to the 27 for a max total of 29, then we're rolling!

We already signed 19.

Miller, Bethel, and Silvera make 22.

Odenigbo and Boulware make 24.

That means if 27 truly is our hard limit and the grad transfers must count toward this number, we'd only be able to sign 3 more from the following list: Chatman, Ezzard, Chatfield, Campbell, Surtain, Coburn, and Ojomo. So what do we do if Chatman, Ezzard, and Chatfield send in their LOIs Wednesday at 7AM, and then we get a call from Coburn or Surtain or Campbell saying they want in?

Now if the grad transfers are in addition to the 27 number which allows to take 29 total kids, we'll have room to sign 5 more from Chatman, Ezzard, Chatfield, Surtain, Campbell, Coburn, and Ojomo. Ideally we get Chatman, Ezzard, Chatfield, one of the AH CBs, and finally one of the Texas DT longshots.

But this is all just speculation. Only the coaches know the real numbers. I have a gut feeling though that maybe numbers are tight. Just a feeling that Ezzard and Chatfield are being slowplayed a bit, for some reason, i feel like those two would have committed already if they could. I do think slowplaying CHatfield AGAIN is a huge mistake if this is what is happening. And if numbers really are that tight, i think the 4th WR is the most expendable spot, and should go to a DL or CB.

ALL OF THEM!! If Coburn wants in, yep. If AH4 want in, yep. If Ezzard want in, yep!

Let’s get em all!

Because we are under the 85 limit I don't think we need to worry about counting grad transfers coming into the program with the offseason attrition that has happened with guys leaving early/transferring out.

This. (sorry, I meant to up vote you, but my screen was jumping)
We still have some dead weight that can be "encouraged to transfer" after Spring practice in order to stay at, or under, the 85 man limit. I am sure everyone here can think of at least 2 or more players who should seek employment elsewhere.

Wasn’t the limit just a number Richt put out there?

What’s the actual limit? BC I don’t see Richt turning away anyone we are after right now.

If we need to trade odenigbo for Coburn, we will take that easily. There will also be some additional transfers after spring, that will open additional space.

Go Canes

Do the grad transfers count towards the number this year ?
