How long til the ACC dies? ⏳

Great comparison. Also could throw in russian empire pre 1917

The Russians actually weren't in too bad a position in 1914 from an economic or military point of view.

It's just they ****ed up everything afterwards - like sending unencrypted radio signals that the Germans intercepted at Tannenberg, or their war minister Sukhomlinov saying "I have not read a military manual for the last twenty-five years", or the Tsar becoming commander in chief and making a mess of everything.

The ticket prices are also eliminating a lot of potential attendees.

The cheapest ticket on Ticket master is $242.

LOL, gonna be a blood bath for those TM scam artists

Like @Cknucks305 is suggesting, folks can hit up the Food Lion for some $20 seats Saturday morning

#LawOfSupplyAndDemand 😏

Good shout. Was just saying they were kind of a cluster**** with all the independence and nationalist movements it was bound to fall apart.

exactly..

inviting Cal and Stanford and SMU into the conference as a last second desperation move reeked of grasping for survival... the conference is dead and being buried as we speak...

and they're too dumb (or prideful) to realize there are only 2 or 3 programs (Miami, Clemson, FSU) in the conference that can help them survive longer by being a prominent national team that competes at the highest level and that they should do everything in their power to help them succeed.. scheduling.. refs.... ACCCG seeding. everything....
Not help from the refs. I don't want that at all. I want FAIR officiating. I want them to call fair games, even if it means the other team gets called for holding 20 times a game. We lose games because they let other teams do things we are not allowed to do. Now the ACC wants to act like they are in Miami's corner with this playoff mess? F them. We are in this mess because they let the refs ***** us in games like SMU.

I was completely against what FSU and Clemson were trying to do because I thought they did not have any legal footing,

You would know far more about the dynamics of court cases, but it always seemed to me there were too many skeletons from the John Swofford days for the conference to ultimately prevail in court -- especially with FSU and Clemson so determined to GTFO.

Neither the ACC nor ESPN wanted those shady dealings exposed or the inevitable hard feelings to linger.

Wiser to come to a compromise on the dollars and let schools that want to leave do so

If a team with a losing record wins the ACC and there is no ACC representation in the CFP, I'm sure they will still do absolutely nothing.
Yep. Jim Phillips strikes me as a guy who just doesn’t give a ****. He knows his days are numbered. Might as well help make friends with other sailors in the SEC/BIG because there’s no stopping this sinking **** liner

I live in Charlotte and there are so many ticket giveaways and advertising of tix 60% off it’s mind boggling that the league would allow this. Well actually it’s not that surprising since this league is run terribly but you would think they would want to actually have a game that is watched by more than just UVA and Duke fans.
Question, I saw somewhere the other conferences have similar tiebreaker rules. Is this true?

I read the same thing. If true, ALL conferences will be entering "highest ranked" as the 2nd tiebreaker after H2H once they get together and vote in the offseason at their annual meetings. They will all want to avoid the ACC debacle.

The ACC, as usual, had the dumb luck and few superior teams, to fall into this situation. Look at the $EC this year. They have 3 teams at 11-1 and 3 at 10-2. The ACC has 2 at 10-2 and the tiebreaker keeps one of them from playing for the championship.

My idea for the CC weekend is to just have all P4 conferences seed and play a 13th game. 1v2 3v4 5v6 etc… That way everyone gets that 13th data point. 1v2 would be the traditional game and the others on campus higher seed gets the home game.
That would have Miami playing Pitt again
SMU vs GT

Unless the seeding used a better method than the current standings.

There are only 2 revenue generating sports, and the ACC has done its best to be shut out of the biggest one. This is beyond pathetic.

I was completely against what FSU and Clemson were trying to do because I thought they did not have any legal footing, but if UM does not publicly address what is happening as it relates to the ACC leadership (not the CFP which is just using the power it has to ***** us), I will be incredibly disappointed.

Jim Phillips allowed this to happen. And his predecessor signed a terrible TV deal. Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, and we are stuck in the middle.
thank you sir may he have another
